I can recommend the AKG K545 for your headphones. As for the DAC, I don't think you'll need one with a phone with specs as good as that for audio.

In my opinion, the extra money is worth it. For comfort and build, the dolphins are... moderate.

I'm a big fan of the AKG K545. However, it depends on your preferences for whether or not you will like it. What kind of sound are you looking for?

 Hi. I have an HTC One M8 (H/K edition) with neutron music player and an AKG K545 (32 Ohms). So do I need an amp? If so, am I get some recommendations? Keep in mind that my budget is $150 for an amp.

AKG products are usually defective out of the box. If they're two years old, I won't be a help.

To be honest, neutron doesn't make that much of a difference from the original music app.

This tends to happen with AKG products. When I first got my K545, it was defective out of the box and I had the same problem as you. If you contact AKG, they are usually pretty flexible with returns.

I also have neutron for playing music.
