Metrum Pavane
Seemingly all the Metrum aspects are not contactable. I did try. Apparently it is a new company & making different products. Does anyone find the problem that I now have as to the ‘red light’ staying on in not having connected properly.- jhai

OK, I realise I am ‘old’, but can’t see how to post a ‘New’ post but only as to ‘Reply’ to an existing post. (Have posted before). Any advise use as to actually posting a new matter, particularly that just ‘adding’ to an existing post will probably not get results. I have only just seen that...- jhai

Sennheiser HD800 S Impressions Thread (read first post for summary)
Can’t really be argued that tube amps can bring their normal characteristics, (basically various degrees of warmth) but I do agree that the source, (if DAC) makes a considerable difference. Reckoning that most of us like some degree of ‘warmth’ it comes down to where you want to include it...- jhai

OK, you are speaking of suitable amps, but mention “recessed mids”, & this is something that I would really like an answer to. Is the Phi version similar to the ‘orIginal’, OR does it have an increase as to ‘the mids’.- jhai

As to using the new pads with the ‘original’ 1266, I am using them & they make a great difference. All good, —— transparency, detail etc. Basically, the difference is absolutely ‘amazing’!- jhai

Interesting that you have come from the Lazuli Reference to the SC cable. Reading ‘between the lines’, & having recently installed the ‘new pads’ (& finding a great difference to the original) believe your comment as to the ‘new pads’ may indeed be very true as what I ‘understand’ to be the...- jhai

No problem!!! In fact, I was referring to my ears being "old", they are in fact extremely similar in age as to the rest of me, --- nearly 75. Your stated impressions make sense, "strange", & this defined to "old" & this redefined as "vintage". Much appreciated,( &, I am sure no offence taken by...- jhai

I note the comment re the Cavalli Lau sounding "weird". As I have this amp, I have always been particularly interested in what others have found as to the sound characteristics of the Lau. OK, I sure don't find it "weird",(but that's fine) but in that there was never a lot of discussion on the...- jhai

Danacable User Feedback
I note that in the actual review under the 'link' provided, ( https://www.head-fi.org/threads/danacable-user-feedback.826110/#post-14016006 ) that there is reference to original cable for Abyss & cable provided wit Phi being different. Even speaks of different cross section, 'metal type' etc... -

Hi Joe, Your response is very much appreciated. I am sure that Beolab will 'understand' my needing to address the matter, & obviously he is indicating what he actually hears. I am sure wanting all the "tinkles" I can manage, (transferred to my ageing ears). Thank you- jhai

I have the standard Abyss, & this is exactly what I would not expect, (especially from a thinner diaphragm) & also is against what I would want if going to the Phi. Also seems not to gell with comments as to taking the standard Abyss to more towards the Focal, (in regards to 'detail' retrieval...- jhai

Yes Abyss v2 would have. been good, but we wouldn't be having so much 'fun'. But since we have the 'mathematical symbol', I believe the pronunciation should be more to "FI" / fie.- jhai

You mention 'not hearing the small tinkles' so are you saying less detail/information at these frequencies. If so I am 'worried'.- jhai

My concern is similar to Xecuter's. Will wait for what I hope will be additional feedback from owners updating from the original as to perceived differences. Should anyone be doing so, I am particularly interested in them, (in being 'quicker/cleaner' I believe) not being clinical in achieving...- jhai

Top Shelf Solid State with HD800s
Was looking at tossing this up on one of the other Ragnarok forums, (with perhaps even more recent posts) but in re-reading this forum, in that it includes mention of such as 'quality of input' & also re 'balanced /unbalanced', here goes. Normally a good input/source most of you will be using...- jhai

This continuing from eric65 regarding "RKV-II Amp and VERTO box" appears to be getting quite ridiculous. Do others believe that the 'system' is being abused & this is virtual 'advertising' & has aspects off 'spamming' & 'trolling'? John H- jhai

Firstly an apology for 'jumping in on an old, (was a bit surprised it had actually 'stopped' as to the title), but hving read the entire thread I notice the, (obviously correct) comment as to related componentry to enable the HD800 to perform at it's best. What headphone amps would you...- jhai

OK, a couple of questions. (1) What is so special as to the AudioValve RKV-II (or lll), amps? I ask in that the "Wee" can apparently be used with 'any' power amp. (2) In what way is the 'AudioValve Box adapter VERTO' different or superior to the "Wee" when used for Stax headphones? Many...- jhai
