Do you equalize?
I bass boost with convolver; makes the K701s awesome. I basically bass boost with every headphone I own/ed, and one or two speakers even.- Zowbombs

I have to chime in here. I've owned the Zhaolu for around 3 months now, and I do feel it is all it's hyped up to be. One thing though, I can't hear a difference between optical and coax inputs, nor did I notice any difference when I swapped opamps around. How noticable are these improvements...- Zowbombs

Little Dot II+ and SR225
I'd say yes. I have a pair of Grados and while they are not really my cup of tea, they are definitely "in your face." Maybe you could consider the Sony SA5ks for "up front, in your face, feel and great detail/ instrument seperation" Solid choice on the amp, I have the LD3 and it's great.- Zowbombs

Nice impressions, especially with regard to the earpiece seating within the ear. My main complaint against the UM2s was the angle was slightly odd and each insertion did not provide a consistent seal (at least to my ears).- Zowbombs
