Fostex X00 Ebony fostex th 900 modified

Can any one give me advice on X00 Ebony vs th 900 modified It’s hard to judge but subjectively it sounds like I’d want the the bass of the 900 but not the recessed mids and hot treble But I’d like the more forward mids of the X00’s and tamed treble. Now can I modify a th 900 to sound more like...

    hd25-1 impressions thread

Ive come back to some hd25s,one of the reasons i got rid of them last time was the brain chrushing clamp, :triportsad: So after looking through this thread here's a few pics of of my freshly modded hd25 with sp headband, most people who do this mod turn the cups upside down so the cables are...

    Hello, denon d600 - fostex th600

I've got the jvc dx1000 now and I like them, as I've posted elsewhere compared to the d600 the mids are fuller and more forward and the treble is smooth and very un-fatiguing, the down sides are there ridiculously BIG and the cable is stiff and ridiculously long, also there's 1/4" jack on the...

    JVC HP-DX1000 Owners Unite!

The denons d600 i have are more sensitive but still my ipad drives them to levels that are uncomfortable for me.

    JVC HP-DX1000 Owners Unite!

As my discription in 600 thread, they have tighter cleaner bass all be it lower in respective volume but they are more mid forward and smoother in the top end with little fatigue. The dx are more neutral to my ears with a airy delicate feel which is distinctly " audiophile" , the 600 are smiley...

    Fostex TH600 Dynamic Headphones

The 900 is obviously better then the 600 the mids are more recessed the bass is looser and and there brighter and harsher! I've ended up with jvc dx1000, the bass is as deep but lower in volume, never boomy and really tight, the mids are forward and smooth and the top end is clear but never harsh.

    Fostex TH600 Dynamic Headphones

My problem is I want to stay away from amps, hence going for denon/fostex type cans as they can be driven straight from an ipad/iPhone, they also are closed and very comfortable, that's basically my criteria. Some has mentioned the jvc1000 is like if sennheiser and denon had a baby they would be...

    Fostex TH600 Dynamic Headphones

After trying lots of headphones I realised i like a full midrange and a smooth top, I find the d600 mid recessed and slightly harsh up top compared to my speakers, which makes them sound slightly thin in comparison. I was hoping the th600 would change this, they were clearer sounding with maybe...

    Fostex TH600 Dynamic Headphones

I've since heard both back to back and I don't think that is the case, the difference was small enough for me to keep the d600 and sell the fostex.

    Hello, denon d600 - fostex th600

Thanks Andre, I appreciate the input, ill try and hear the mad dogs.....don't know where? I brought and sold the fostex 600, taking the money in to concideration i didn't find them any better then the denons, in fact I think they where slightly harsher sounding and thinner. The denons sounded...

    Hello, denon d600 - fostex th600

I listen to all genres but a lot of electronic based music now a days, on there own the d600 sound pretty good and there comfort and price i paid make them a bargin, its only in comparisons you really notice the recessed mids and the perfectionist in me knows I should change that. I compared the...

    Hello, denon d600 - fostex th600

Well funny enough lately I have been demoing some cans in the hope of finding something to meet my criteria, for me in the scheme of things the only real problem i have with the d600 is the recessed mids which gives it a slightly thin harsh sound compared to my speakers and other headphones like...

    Hello, denon d600 - fostex th600

Thanks for taking the time to write that, I appreciate it, I also have hd25 so those opinions are relevant to me as well. I also dj with traktor,I use the echo audiofire2 sound card and I know the traktor audio sound card, I believe we'll implemented electronics i.e dacs and sound cards are...

    Fostex TH600 Dynamic Headphones

i have overlaid the fostex th600 (green yellow)and the denon d600 (blue red) graphs from innerfidelity, so it gives a rough idea of where they differ in sound, the bass/mid bass is obvious and another area is where the denon has the classic 5k dip the fostex does not.    ...

    Hello, denon d600 - fostex th600

I use I tunes match so most of my music is not on my iPhone/ipad and I am guessing you have to load the music into the app? I don't think a eq app is for me because of the above but I appreciate the suggestion and agree its probably the cheapest/ most sensible option. How do you d600 and hd 650...

    Fostex TH600 Dynamic Headphones

Has anyone compared the fostex th600 to the denon ah d600, I would be interested in hearing how they are different and if the fostex is a big step up? Thanks.

    Hello, denon d600 - fostex th600

Thanks for the reply, I'm probably slightly different then most on hear in the fact that I only want to be able to use my headphones straight from a ipad/iPhone , I use iTunes / Spotify so no real access to eq, that's why it's important to me to get the right sounding headphone, fostex seem...
