Best free audio software to stream Tidal in Windows 10?

I use Tidal quite a bit, but I have my doubts about the sound quality produced by the actual Tidal app. Plus, I want to use an equalizer with the songs I stream from Tidal, but no equalizer is included in the app. I'm thinking it might be better to stream the Tidal files through separate audio...

Pairing Dragonfly Red with dedicated amp. Has anyone tried this? Impressions?

Alright, so if I use the Dragonfly Red for its DAC and feed it to a dedicated headphone amp to get enough power for hard-to-drive headphones, is that going to cause problems with double amping. I know Audioquest claims the DFR has a line-out mode if you crank the volume to 100%, but I don't see...

How do I figure out, mathematically, if an amp will fully power specific headphones?

I apologize for the newbie question, but I'm having trouble finding a simple, straightforward answer to this. What information do I need? And what do I do with that information? I want to make sure the desktop amp I buy will *fully* power my headphones. I don't want it to just be "good enough"...

What's the best amp to pair with a bright DAC and Sennheiser hd650 headphones?

I'm looking for an amp that will even out the brightness of my Dragonfly Red, for use with Sennheiser hd 650's. I like the sound of Fiio amps, with their smooth sound. I'm looking to spend around $250. Thanks!

Why is it considered bad for sound quality to add more bass (with bass boost or equalizer) to accurate, neutral headphones such as AKG K7xx?

I own a few sets of headphones and one of them is AKG K7xx. They're great headphones for a lot of reasons, but bass is their weakest characteristic. I've seen other audiophiles with similar issues, and I'm wondering why people don't just add more bass with an equalizer or bass boost function...

Best amp for Massdrop 6xx under $300?

What would you recommend as the best amp for Massdrop HD6xx under $300? I will be feeding the said amp from my PC, using Tidal, going into a Dragonfly Red dac/amp in line out mode. The Dragonfly Red is 2.1v but I'm using it for it's dac only. I want a dedicated headphone amp in the lineup too...

Sennheiser Orpheus 2 ($55,000) or Hifiman Shangri La ($50,000)?

I've decided I'm crazy enough to drop around $50,000 on headphones. I trust head-fi as the best audiophile community out there, so I'll probably buy whichever of the two gets the most recommendations. I appreciate any input, especially if you've had a chance to listen to them. Thanks!

Master Tidal on PC to Dragonfly Red to TX-SR373 Onkyo reciever to AKG K7xx. Would a headphone amp be better than the receiver?

Would there be any improvement in sound if I replace the TX-SR373 Onkyo receiver with a desktop headphone amp? Power specs for the Onkyo TX-SR373 receiver: All Channels: 155 W/Ch (6 Ohms, 1 kHz, 10% THD, 1 Channel Driven) 80 W/Ch (8 Ohms, 20 Hz–20 kHz, 0.08% THD, 2 Channels Driven, FTC)...

V-Moda Crossfade 2 Wireless headphones - your thoughts?

I got mine in the mail a few weeks ago. Anyone else had a chance to try them yet? They're designed to be audiophile headphones wired, and then Bluetooth with Aptx added afterward just for convenience. I almost always listen wired so I can use my dac/amp, but it's nice to have Aptx Bluetooth too...

Whenever I see an audiophile use a phone as their source, it's always an Iphone. Why? What specifically is better about it?

Is it the hardware? The software? Why Iphone and not other high-end phones like Nokia Lumia Icon for example?

What output does my amp need to drive 32 ohm headphones with 103 db/mW sensitivity (@ 1kHz) ?

In other words, would a Fiio E11 drive V-Moda m100 headphones well?

Other than the headphones themselves, what is the order of importance for the boxes and gadgets such as amps and DAC's in a portable setup?

For me,  1. DAC 2. headphone amp 3. ? 4. ? etc..   I'm new to the portable setup, as of now I have V-moda m100's and a Fiio amp playing songs from my laptop. I'm deciding on a DAC, but I have no idea what else is needed other than a DAC and amp.

V-moda m100's + Fiio e11 amp + What kind of DAC would you recommend under $200

Which DAC would be best for that setup? The cheaper the better, but I can go up to $200.   I use FLAC files off my laptop as my audio player, but I'll be getting a new smartphone tomorrow which I may use instead.

This is my first post. What kind of output do I need on my DAP or smartphone to connect to a DAC without losing any quality

I'm getting a new smartphone tomorrow. What kind of output do I need to connect to a DAC? I've heard a USB audio out is good, but is it the best? If need be, I'll buy a separate DAP if no smartphone can deliver the best quality. Right now I have V-moda m100's and a Fiio e11 amp if that makes any...

Which smartphone should I get tomorrow to use as a DAP for my equipment setup? I need to buy it tomorrow.

This is my first post at headfi, but I've been lurking for months. I love you guys! I just found out I can get a free new smartphone tomorrow with a two year contract. I want to make sure I get the best smartphone possible to use as a portable DAP for my rig listed below.    My gear right now...
