New England (Mass, NH, Maine, etc) Winter Meet - 1-28
I attended the get together at Fidelis, it was a blast. I've been keeping my eye on the forum here for this year's event (or any other meet ups) and see that a small group of folks are getting together which is great. Hopefully more social and gear related events can happen on a larger scale as...- bostown

New England (Mass, NH, Maine, etc) Winter Meet - 1-28
I'd be interested in attending. given the time frame looks like a POST holiday meet up may be more likely. it's a lot to pull together before the Holiday I'd imagine. There's also the NYC Can Jam that is coming up as well so that may or may not be a factor. Setting up a bus ride out...- bostown

SchiitShow 2: This Changes Everything
I guess the long winded pitch I made a while back for a SYS w/ Remote control ( to fill the void of the Creek passive/Remote units left behind) fell on deaf ears ( as expected of course). There is the R-Cube but really A sys-R or Sys II with remote just kinda makes sense ( well to me...- bostown

HD600 and HD650 discontinued?
It's probably UNoffically discontinued. The 600 and 650 are not in any of the current ( and very confusing ) categories of headphones on their site unless I missed it. and did I miss a SHOW ALL option for their heahphones, if not that's just silly not to have that as an option. A good...- bostown

Nashua, New Hampshire Meet: Decemeber 5th, 2015 Impressions
I snapped a few pics while I was there and will post them up later this evening. It was a great time, I'm glad I was able to make it up to NH to participate (although a bit later than scheduled ). I got a few great ideas for improving things in my headphone system(s). From Tube...- bostown

Nashua, New Hampshire Meet: Decemeber 5th, 2015

I just stumbled on this event and im clearing my calendar to try to make it up to NH from MA. Should that happen, ill plan on bringing the following ( will edit...- bostown

Schiit Lyr Tube Rollers
Finally got around to ordering some of these for the Lyr and my Tube Tester.. Best idea ever for the Schiit. MUCH Easier to get out once seated. and it gives the tubes some additional height for visual ambiance :)- bostown

OPPO BDP-105 headphone Amp
One of the lesser benefits the 105's ability to breath new life into an aging system. There are some quality multichannel receivers that are lacking support for HDMI and the latest multi-channel surround formats. In some ways the 105 negates those drawbacks so long as the unit has...- bostown

More flexible by way of what headphones you can drive. The pre-amp function is also handy if you have an amp that you like to use with passive monitors. I've been experimenting by using a Lyr as a pre-amp with a Pair of Parasound Z-amps Bridged to mono, to drive a set of Sonus Faber...- bostown

OPPO BDP-105 headphone Amp
It would make sense for the HD music Sites to develop an app for the OPPO 105 that would allow DIRECT downloading to an attached external drive. or does this already exist and I'm somehow missing it? The oppo can playback high res audio directly, there should be direct access to a store (...- bostown

OPPO BDP-105 headphone Amp
Can't say I'm following Oppo down the rabbit hole with the "D" versions, I'm happy with the standard 105 ( hell I liked the 103 too) . I'll have to sit out this new upgrade. However I will start saving some pennies for the next major model release. Hopefully they add an HDMI with support for...- bostown

NEWS: Meridian Releases The Explorer Pocket-Sized USB DAC
I had the older Nuforce MicroDac 2 and came across a deal on an Explorer. I miss the independent Volume control but that's not a deal breaker. Overall the Explorer is pretty nice. perfect for taking to the office. I need to make myself a little hardshell case for the constant commuting...- bostown

Schiit Lyr Tube Rollers
I'd probably be more inclined to try a couple of different types for schiits and giggles if they were easier to get in and out. the Next SCHIIT product should be a tube puller :) Excessive rolling isn't my thing but my Shrek sized hands makes it damn near impossible to get tubes out once...- bostown

I've has no luck with that method unfortunately. I mean, it's certainly not grimey or anything, In fact it's clean, just looks like there's some streaking and rub marks in the finish that a lightly damped soft cloth doesn't seem to remedy. Maybe I missed it on their site but I couldn't...- bostown
