Yes I understand that. Many people use integrated amps nowadays. My question is would adding a good dedicated preamp help improve the sound quality.

I was reading a review on the PS Audio BHK preamp and the claim is adding this to a power amp/speaker chain improved the musicality. I currently have an emm labs dac -> alo Studio six. Anyone have any experience adding a high end preamp to their setup?

I received a 2nd hand Hugo 2 that was purchased in March and shipped in July. As I flip the unit top to bottom, I hear a rattling. I hold the buttons as I do this and no noise is heard. So it seems that the buttons are loose. Is this expected?

I'm trying to decide between the Chord Hugo 2 or TT to pair with the Focal Utopia. I listen to pop, rock, edm, vocals. I would like opinions on the tech differences that affect the sound quality and not price.

Budget is anything below $3k. I have no experience with tubes. All my current amps have been solid state.

I had my AK240 connected to my laptop while playing files off the device and the battery was slowly going down instead of up. Is this normal?
