I have a Modi 2 / Vali 1 combo and just ordered the Magni 3. Got a pair of AKG K7XX. As much as I like the Vali, I can't stand the microphonics every time I touch the volume knob. Back to solid state !

  I'd say if you don't need the power that the Element provides, then the C5D is just as good.  In fact, I preferred the C5D with my IEMs because of the nice bass boost option.   If I had harder-to-drive cans, I would definitely go with the Element.

I'm putting Element up for sale in the market place in case anyone is interested.   Just a few weeks old.  I'm happy enough with my C5D, and I miss the C5D's bass boost option when I use the Element.

Regarding volume and channel imbalance:   With my iMac volume at 100%, and The Element turned down all the way (6 o'clock position), I can still hear the audio (very faintly). Also, I can turn the iMac volume down to 12 out of 16 bars (so 75% volume) and still hear the audio if I try really...

  I will try it with my Android phone later today.   I can't imagine ever using it with a phone, it's not portable of course by any means.

From what I read, these are more detailed and neutral and the 770 is more v-shaped.    I used to own the AKG K702 and loved the detail in those open cans.  If these are anywhere near that, I think i'd prefer it over the 770.   I can always boost the bass occasionally with an EQ :)   I worry...

I'm looking for a closed full-sized can for home and portable use.     I have the DT-770 Pro 32ohms coming in the mail.  Anyone know how these would compare in terms of sound quality, isolation, comfort?  I wonder if I should jump on this instead and return the 770s.

Is your S5 running Lollipop yet?  If so, then most DACs including this one will work no problem.  

I just took the risk and dropped $400.  Will report back on any issues or hiss.  That said, I only have a pair of inefficient IEMs (RE-262) so I don't expect to hear much hiss from them anyway.  Hard for me to justify spending $700 for the Intruder if this one works well.
