The line out of the ipod is 3.5 mini-jack. I'd presume you have to use a mini -> Left / Right RCA connector then plug it to the amp? Should I take care when chosing the plug converters? This is assuming I'm just using normal cables. Anything else I should take note when doing this setup...

I have done something like that (maybe) before. I used my computer's DVD player to output the digital source on my SB live optical, which my MD recorded. Not sure if it's 24/96 though.
