Is there really anyone equal to Tom Waits? I don't think so.   I don't think anyone can equal his output since the late 70's.   He stands alone.   Tom Waits is the best artist we've ever seen since then, and I'm a Bob Dylan fan!  

It has to be "New Tony Lamas" on Deryl Dodd's "Live At Billy Bob's Texas" album.   It's never going to be famous, but it is probably the best country song ever!   Find it and listen...   I'm willing to accept "Middle Age Crazy" by Jerry Lee Lewis and "Shotgun Boogie" by Tennessee Ernie...

I see that the legendary Todd Rundgren-produced first New York Dolls album from 1973 is now available on HD Tracks in 192 / 24 and 96 / 24.   I don't have my hands on it yet, but I'm definitely going to check that one out.   It's been one of my favorite albums for decades!

I remember when The Who released "It's Hard" in 1982. At the time, they were old folks flying in the face of punk rock. They were already old hat, but there were still a few good tracks.   "Athena" and "Emincence Front."   Probably the last time The Who mattered.
