Hey guys, I've got a Sony Walkman NW - ZX1 that's stuck on a boot loop. It got there at random (not after a firmware update). The device was powered off and the next time I powered it on - boot loop. All I'm seeing is the Walkman logo with the colour animation until it runs out of battery...

The US and Japan versions are completely different. They look the same, yes but one of them is volume capped. As far as I know, the US version of the Z is volume capped whereas the Japanese version is not.   That's your main difference. If you would be trying to power your big over ear cans...

Thanks Aelavin. I've checked that out as well but I'm not sure if it's worth doing. My prime usage of the Z is to listen to music.    Occasionally check my email on it and that's about it.   Just wanted to know if anyone has done it and if they have, for what reason.
