Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
I just received my iSine 10 (b stock) from the Adorama Black Friday $119 deal. No cipher cable but I didn’t expect it at that price. I don’t need it anyway since I’m using it with Roon off my iPad which has a DSP preset for them built in. It was well packaged as new with new tips and ear clips...- mmanolio

Shanling M5 Impressions & Discussion Thread
@Shanling, I would also like to be able to see the bitrate of the playing file displayed. For example, I have a mix of Apple Lossless and 256kbps .m4a files. It would be nice to be able to see the current bitrate playing. Thank you again for the comprehensive update!!- mmanolio

Indeed! Thank you Shanling! I really like #7: Auto switch back to playing interface, which time can be set in settings, because there is now an "Off" setting! Before, it was quite annoying when adjusting EQ settings to have it constantly switch back to the now playing screen. I also...- mmanolio

OK, I just converted a 96/24 Flac file to 48/24 Flac and the EQ works fine. (using the very handy and fast Total Audio MP3 Converter) So it seems the EQ does not support sample rates over 48kHz. For now I will go ahead and convert all my 96/24 files to 48/24 for the M5. I'm not a big...- mmanolio

Thank you nmatheis! I have confirmed that I can indeed customize the presets. But it would be nice to be able to change the names. I never had a FiiO DAP so am not familiar with that tool. Also, I just found a bug. The EQ does not work on hi-res files! I have some 96/24 Flac files and...- mmanolio

You're welcome PopZeus. Yes, the PM-3 takes EQ extremely well. The M5's EQ is very transparent sounding to my ear. It would be nice though to be able to delete the factory EQ presets and be able to save more than one custom preset.- mmanolio

Try the PM-3 with the M5's EQ set to +4 for the 31 & 62Hz bands and +2 for the 16kHz band. You may change your mind.- mmanolio

I'm using low gain for my PM-3's. IMHO no need to go to hi gain for the PM-3. The M5 seems to have plenty of oomph for them on Lo.- mmanolio

It seems so. It would be nice if they can address that in a firmware update. I hope it is not a hardware limitation.- mmanolio

I'm in the US so got my M5 from the US eglobalcentral.com and all was well. It arrived very quickly. The issue with this vendor is that if there is a problem requiring a return, they require the unit to be returned directly to them in Hong Kong. I did not have to do this as my M5 is fine so far.- mmanolio

I have a Sandisk 200GB card in my M5 and have reached a point where I have about 150GB used. While Everything shows up fine in File Browser mode, the most recently added songs/albums are not showing up in the "My Music" database mode. I understand that Shanling say the M5 supports only up to...- mmanolio

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions
Thank you. The original owner must have kept it in a clean room or something. It was spotless before I even started work on it. I was lucky to find it. Sounds like that B&O is really nice. I remember seeing those at a local hi-fi shop where my cousin worked at the time.- mmanolio

Correct. Resistors off the power amps. Thanks, My Dad had bought me the first one I had as a teenager back then. It was my first good piece of audio gear. Thank you and understood. I'd like it to show the bitrate of the playing file as well so I can tell when it is playing an AAC 256 or an ALAC. As it is now, they look the same.- mmanolio
