    Pocket Amp by Electric Avenues

I also have a recently ordered PA2, and for the price I don't think there is anything better. It works as advertised and Gary is easy to deal with. I wish the two input and output jacks were labelled, but Gary does have instructions on his web page. He also ships promptly and is just plain easy...

    could we design a dap?

I think one mistake everybody is making is to think they need to have the whole thing done in the first go. It doesn't work that way, even in business - they usually don't show you the first go, or even the tenth version. The first step is to get something working minimally. This is then...

    could we design a dap?

For those who say the programming is too hard, that's because you're not programmers. One motivated person could to most of the integration, at least to get it to the point where there was a running OS that others could modify. The OS does not need to be written from scratch - that's why I...

    My Dne-1 died today..

I personally decided to go with a Sony D-NE920 for $145 shipped from an Amazon reseller: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...170815-3244017 I went with goldenit - it's not here yet so I can't tell you how it turned out.

    Oh Lord...the Bass!

I am assuming since it's a MINT, you'll be needing 9V batteries. I recommend MAHA for batteries and chargers - I have been using the AA and AAA for years. http://www.thomas-distributing.com/mh-96v170.htm http://www.thomas-distributing.com/m...ry-charger.htm The chargers a bit expensive...

Silver-Gold Interconnect Turns iPod into High-End Source?

I agree that with components that have any analog circuits in them (and almost everything does, somewhere), conditioned power can make an audible difference, which is even likely to be an improvement. Unless your normal power is just horrible (eg brownouts, etc) the difference is likely to be...

Silver-Gold Interconnect Turns iPod into High-End Source?

I guess I lied - I can't stop... At the risk of sounding strident and opinionated (as opposed to scientific and analytical) I find it very difficult to believe that a $250 power cord can improve audio equipment performance any more than a good $30 one should. If you live in a typical US...

Sony D-NE10 or Panasonic SL-CT-710 or iRiver IMP-400 or ?

Ordered the Sony D-NE920 from a reseller on Amazon for not quite $150 shipped. The Amazon reseller seemed more respectable than DataVision, who was cheaper, and etronics, who was not cheaper. I also ordered Sennheiser PX100 and Koss PortaPro (couldn't decide, so buy them both!). My wife is...

Alright, finalizing my headphone decision: 555 vs 590

I like my 590s - never listened to the 555s. As far as driving them with portable gear, they sound OK with the headphone output of a Dell Inspiron 4000 laptop, and they actually sounded pretty good when used with a Sansui 13 inch portable TV with built-in VCR too, for whatever that's worth.

Does anybody know of any significant advantage of the D-NS920 over the D-NS900? They seem to have pretty much identical specs. The only changes I can find are the jog dial and four line display on the D-NS900 is replaced with jog lever and five line display on the D-NS920, and the D-NS920 has...
