Do Bose Companion 2 speakers need an amp?

I liked the audio from the Klipsch but I had to have the volume turned up over half way because anything less induced scratching and the left speaker sounded weaker.

Do Bose Companion 2 speakers need an amp?

BTW, these are the speakers I replaced with the Bose. The reason was that the volume control was messed up at the lower volume levels. Apple Klipsch ProMedia Ultra 2.0 Computer Speaker - Yahoo! Shopping

Do Bose Companion 2 speakers need an amp?

Didn't know these had a built in amp already so thanks for the info. What other speakers are in the same price range that are considered better? I listen mostly to rock with some softer ballads on occasion so I don't need a ton of bass. Thanks.

    Next step up from AV-710?

Can't seem to get Asio or KS working even with F2K so I'm thinking of getting another sound card. What would be the next step up? I want to be able to get bit perfect output of 96kHz like the 710, preferably under $100. Thanks.

Getting the most from the AV710?

I wanted to ask the pros here if iTunes gets the best performance from the 710 or does Foobar? I know how to configure Foobar and am using the Wolfson DAC so is there really a difference between the players?

Thanks for the link. Wish they had addressed the audio quality issue more. Looks like the UI was their main thing.

    Need wireless streaming advice

I currently have my AV-710 hooked up to my home stereo with a cable but I was wondering if I would lose audio quality by hooking up a wireless solution to stream the music. Has anyone tried this and are there any good systems for it? Thanks.

    AV-710 set up question

Can I use the optical out to connect the card to my home stereo receiver and still use the the regular green speaker out for my speakers? I thought using the optical would turn off the other jacks.

    AV-710 set up question

I want to be able to use the Wolfson DAC for my headphones and the regular speaker jack for my speakers without having to go into the controls and I was wondering if there is a way to do this. Is there a particular driver to use for this? I want to be able to get the best sound from my...

    Front panel connections

I just got a multifunction control panel that has a headphone jack and I was wondering if using it would degrade the sound quality from my AV-710 card? The jack has a cable that runs through and out the back of the case and plugs into the speaker port of the card so its basically an extension...

Here are the speakers I am using: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPL...lm=TB902LL%2FA My cans are Senns 497. Will I still need an amp? Also, I see there are a few CMOY amps on ebay but what should I look for when choosing one? I understand that the selection of the components is critical...

    Audio splitters any good?

I've been seeing these splitters that you plug into a jack and there are two female jacks for two headphones and was thinking of using this to split the output from my AV-710 to both my Klipsch speakers and my Sens 497 cans. This a good idea?

    Will this work?

I was thinking of getting two AV-710 cards in my rig and dedicating one to my home stereo and one to my PC speaker system. Want to use the optical on one card for the home stereo and the Wolfson DAC for my Klipsch system. Would this be possible or is anyone doing this?

    EMU 0404 set up guide?

    EMU 0404 set up guide?

I found the graphical guide for the AV-710 extremely helpful and was wondering if there was a guide for the 404.
