Getting the most from the AV710?

I wanted to ask the pros here if iTunes gets the best performance from the 710 or does Foobar? I know how to configure Foobar and am using the Wolfson DAC so is there really a difference between the players?

The best from the AV710:

Foobar w/kernel streaming
flash firmware to that of the Audiotrak Prodigy 7.1 and use its' drivers
run a glass optical cable to the external DAC of your choice

Next best:

Foobar w/kernel streaming
Replace coupling caps in Wolfson DAC channel with better ones (like Blackgate NX)
Run well-made cable to headphone amp/integrated amp/pre-amp, etc.
