    IC: Headphone in Minnesota

I could probably make it, any weekend really in october and november - weekdays would be almost impossible however as I work 60-70 hours/week.   Right now I have a pair of hifi man he400's, a Channel Islands VDA-1 and VAC-1 and a custom made SOHA. I also have a bookshelf speaker set up that...

    Paris in July

It's a walk from the central Latin Quarter, but I've stayed at the Royal Saint Germain when I needed a room on short notice. Nice rooms, located near Montparnasse and Jardin du Luxembourg and some convenient metro stops.

Why do you think high quality audio is overlooked by the masses ?

I would add that a lot of people think they have high quality audio systems because they own one of the most expensive speakers pairs or HTIBs from the big box stores. People just arent aware, and most are happy not to care

Quote: The Unibroue Terrible and the La Fin Du Monde are also great. The ephemere is one that I personally dont care for too much but two of my friends liked that the most. we found a Unibroue sampler that was excellent, not a bad beer in the bunch (unless you don't like tripels like...

Official Team BEER-FI (Beer Appreciation Thread!)

Tried a couple beers this weekend, first was from Unibroue, called Maudite, really liked this beer, bold beer with guts that didn't hold back on flavors. Normally this no holds barred approach to beer flavors ends up in disaster, but this beer hits the mark. Complex flavor that will surprise you...

Quote: Yes I also had a bottle of the Gonzo, it's from flying dog, which I think is in Maryland. It's heavy on the roasted (almost burnt) flavor, which I think a lot of people are turned off by. I thought it was pretty good, but both my friends agreed with you. You should try the...

Deschites Porter, not a conniseur of porters by any means but this one was really tasty, had a porter from Left Hand as well, but I preferred  the Deschutes. Real tasty, Oregon's been doing me right lately. If anyone has some recommendations for some good porters I'm all ears.       ...

Superbowl XLV - Who's getting ready?

Quote:     HD is a great step up, especially now that the early transition and early adoption phases have passed. Did you opt for 60 or 120hZ?

Superbowl XLV - Who's getting ready?

I'm "loaning" a tv from Best Buy for the weekend, bought a big steak made some salsa and queso and have my chips in hand. I'm very excited, love the super bowl, but am nervous it wont be a good game, last years game was quite dull (yes i know the saints converted an onside kick) so I want a game...

Supernova about to give Earth a second sun

I would love to see earth from the "outside". I honestly believe the world would be a better place if we all had a chance to spend a few days on a space station

HDTV question - is 60Hz refresh good enough?

120hz definitely comes down to taste, for some movies I really liked it, for most I didn't appreciate the effect. 120 and 240hz are great for sports but I think buying a less expensive but higher quality 60hz set would be the way to go.

One hour left - what would you do before the end of the world?

With only an hour I'd probably never progress past denial, so nothing real special   Otherwise I'd grab a sledgehammer and head for a lighting/lamp store. Seeing as there's plenty of money in this town I might try and steal a ferrari or the R8 i've seen cruising through town and go for a...

    Goodbye, Captain Beefheart

Rate the video games you're currently playing

Seems many here feel the same way about Black ops. Single player campaign is a waste (thankfully you dont have to finish the campaign to play multiplayer. Unfortunately multiplayer is garbage. Boring maps, bunch of compartmentalized repetitive maps that require little more than mindlessly...

Quote: One of my favorite Ales, nice taste and easy drinking   Tried their chocolate stout last night which was very good, had a Weyerbacher (spelling?) pumpkin ale that night too, very very good pumpkin ale highly recommended to anyone who can still find it (i think its seasonal)

Quote: I enjoy Bells too, the Bells Oarsmen Ale is a really nice break from the heavier hoppier beers I drink, right on the tongue it takes like a basic domestic but hits a nice tangy second punch that is really nice. Has an honest mouthfeel and is an easy drink. Better yet its a beer...

What pair of headphones do you regret selling the most?

Grado RS1/RS2's. I loved them but decided to try other cans, now that I'm more into speakers I dont think I'll buy a pair of headphones at that price again

    This joke is totally awesome.

A man finds an old lamp in his parents attic and rubs it to remove the dirt and grime only to have a genie pop out that will grant him three wishes   The man first wished to win a million dollars in the lottery, two days later the man finds out his ex-wife won the lottery for TWO...
