I would not recommend thick angled pads due to being overly bright and sibilant. As far as I remember bass was ok.

After a day long testing I've managed to pin point some kind of sibilance, that ruins the sound. Almost the same thing manifests on my Fostex T50RP with deep pads as well. I wonder if pads with depth close to original ones will work.

A simple awl seems to do the trick. I have, actually, deep and angled Brainwavz HM5 pads I've bought for my Fostex T50RP. Took less 10 minutes to replace. Its to early to jump to any conclusions about the sound, but I do not notice anything out of order.
