    OneAudio Elysium

I'll keep this short and spicy. Going through local ads, I was looking for a nothing-special pair of bluetooth headphones. And I found one. The "Elysium" from "One Audio", never used for 12 bucks (retails for 22 or 25, I believe?). They had decent looks, contain very few plastic parts, sport...

It was mediocre. And since I rather quickly decided to return them to amazon to get a full refund, I didn't modify anythign on the phones.

No, I can't. And that is general problem. Not only are there many copycats around but the danger of buying a fake copy of a headphone, which is already by itself a knockoff product, might be even higher.

Well, for the low bass section: --- Well, since it's the lowest end of the specture, the overall shape of the spectrum isn't influenced. And in opposite to Tyll's measurements, the lowest bass sections seem to be cut off abruptly, which I consider an anomaly. For the treble characteristics: ---...

    [Impressions] TrekStor Noontec Zoro Professional

I did the testing by hysterically switching the headphones' plugs forth and back while listening to particular song sections over and over again... The most obvious difference between the CAL and the Noontec is this: I described the Noontec to be "tight" and "in your face" and in an earlier...

See http://www.head-fi.org/forum/newestpost/622950 for the full "review"... In short: These headphones do a lot of things right and some things pretty wrong. - The sound is neutral and tight - Lacks deep bass and the last bit of clarity with voices and fine instruments - "Stage" is something...

Well, after Tyll's review at Youtube (LINK), I ordered them and gave them a go after they arrived today. Look and Feel Of course there's a lot of plastic involved in assembling these headphones but there are few optical and well worked out highlights as well. You'll find a brushed aluminium...

BTW: As I said before, I had them un-amplified via onboard-sound,amplified with an Auzentech X-FI Forte and lately amplified with a Soundblaster X-FI HD, where the latter is not such a strong amplifier but offers a superb level of detail - not really a surprise with a SNR of 120+ at the...

@julabask Quite a long time ago, I initiated a hearing test at the german community, just because i was interested how many people could hear 16+khz. So I offered .wav files for download and people could report via poll. The rather simple result: The older people get, the less they hear. Adults...

Sound Blaster X-Fi HD -vs- Fiio E10 ?

Simple Creative Aurvana Live:) ... the X-FI HD arrived today, it's quite amazing :D Right now I am listening to Gil Shaham - Kreisler in Concerto .. I didn't think classic could sound so good on the CAl :)

Sound Blaster X-Fi HD -vs- Fiio E10 ?

The scenario is simple: - I sold my Auzentech X-Fi Forte because it was malevolent to the internals of my pc-setup (as any internal soundcard is) - I'm unhappy with the onboard-sound output of my motherboard. - Therefor I'm looking for an external device which brings some good, (slightly) amped...

Sound Blaster X-Fi HD -vs- Fiio E10 ?

I'm looking to buy one of these two to get some proper music sound through my headphones (it will serve no other purpose) Both have good reviews and are very close together price wise. Does anyone have experiences with the both of them ?

As you could see from my few sentences, I had added a pair of the huge cushions. They made the phones more comfy, but didn't really add anything useful to the sound (in opposite to what the original modders said, that was the reason why I bought the pads).

Since I have the CAL here, I did listening tests by switching from the CAL to the 668B instantly during songs. The result is crystal clear - Or I should say : The sound of the CAL is, the sound of the 668B isn't. I'm not exaggerating here - the 668B doesn't deliver NEARLY the amount of detail...

Perfect headphones for me (in a budget of about $100)?

Good intuition. I couldn't reply earlier, otherwise I would've linked you here (CLICK). His statements made my choice for buying the CAL in the first place, all in all he seems to have a similar taste and reception of sound. Before you look into Grados later on, don't go buy them immediately ...

Perfect headphones for me (in a budget of about $100)?

I had the MS1i, modded to MS1000i ...no deep bass worth mentioning, the mids were pressing, the treble outright annoying. And even with the new ear cushions, they were still somewhat uncomfy -.- But then again - I already know that my "taste" doesn't fit the mainstream here, so take it with a...

BEST VALUE FOR MONEY Finally I can send my Superlux 668B where they belong - into the trashcan. Due to a discount at the german Creative store website, I was able to order the Aurvana Live for 49€ (equals ~62$). Optics/Haptics Lots of plastic, but seems durable and well crafted, also nice to...

I used them with my Auzentech X-Fi Forte, which has a dedicated headphone amp on board,so that shouldn't be the problem. And they're my everday headphones since I bought them (a little more than half a year ago), so they should be running at "full height already. The bass I wouldn't complain...

It wasn't my intention to devalue anything, it was just some sort of eye opener for me that I'm probably incompatible with these reviews so far. I HOPE to be able to read them better in the future or just find someone who hears AND writes like I do, so I can connect to it more easily.
