Stax SR-X1 (new entry model)
I wonder how this will stack up against L700s (both old and mk2). Interested to know if it's worth upgrading from L700 to SR-X1 or not.- chococya96

Is it crazy to ask for velour pads on L700s? Leather is nice and all but in terms of comfort, I still prefer velour/suede over leather/pleather (plus less sweat inducing).- chococya96

Fostex TH900 MkII
I know that they are technically two 'different' types of headphones but, do people prefer 900s over 909s? Or vice versa? I heard that a lot of people hated 909 for losing 900's V-shape signature sound with lukewarm bass and bloated mid.- chococya96

My bad I was referring to headphone/earspeaker outputs, not inputs. Having said that, do you guys rotate the grills so that the thicker plastic part is on the other side and not touching your ear tips? Or do you guys use an adapter with oval pads?- chococya96

STAX SRM-D50
Thanks for the info. I remember my previously owned SRM-252S (paired with L300) had buzzing issues. I remember trying various troubleshooting from plugging the power brick to different wall outlets to trying different cables though, none of them fixed the buzzing noise so I had to return it for...- chococya96

STAX SRM-D50
Ah I see, it's just that D50s are priced same if not, similar to L700 MK2s so I wasn't sure if it's worth getting it over 353x or even 252s if you're not too fussy over input options. Having said that, can you elaborate on the 'warranty issues' that D50 has?- chococya96

I'm curious to know if pairing D50 with L700 is worth it over D10 or other cheaper energizers. I feel like D50 is more geared towards Omega series...- chococya96

Stax L700 MK2 or Sennheiser HD800s?
Hi guys, I'm having a hard time choosing between HD800s and L700 MK2. I have auditioned both headphone/earspeaker, and both were excellent to my ears. I love the large soundstage from HD800s while, detailed and fast sounds from L700 MK2 are hard to ignore as well. Comfort wise, there are no...- chococya96

This might be a wrong thread to ask but, what is considered an "upgrade" from K712 Pro? Been looking for a replacement for a while and I've yet to find a true upgrade from K712.- chococya96

JDS Labs Element
Hmm, it looks like people are using tubes for these headphones, especially that produces fairly "warm" sound. I'm ready to pull the trigger on either HD800s or T1 2nd gen but, at the same time, I don't think I can stretch my budget to get a decent tube amp to replace my Element.- chococya96

Will Element be able to drive HD800s or T1 2nd gen without any problem? I'm interested in getting either of these headphones which, I'm not sure if I need to "upgrade" my current amp/DAC setup or not.- chococya96

Sydney. I'll go to any of those places and see how it goes... Though, it might be hard to test it in loud environment as the humming noise is very subtle. The thing is, I use a UPS for my audio setup. I forgot to mention this but, I also tried using a surge board with filtering (Belkin)...- chococya96

Hey guys, just an update regarding to hum noise in my SRS-3100 set, the local STAX distributor got back to me and told me that there's nothing wrong with my STAX set as they weren't able to identify the humming noise. Thanks for the swift reply. I'll send it in and see how it goes. There's one thing I don't quite get regarding to this issue: why didn't it happen earlier? Yes, it also hums when I turn off the 252 (i.e. turning the knob counter clockwise until it clicks and the led goes out). And while the unit is off, when I place my hand on the amp the hum is more prevalent and audible. It's only when I unplug the power (either from the adapter or from back of...- chococya96
