I've listened to both the D1100 and the DT770's from a friend of mine. The D1100 definitely had a much "punchier" bass than the DT770s

I would recommend IEM's also. I use RE-ZERO's at school, and personally I think wearing IEM's look much better than walking around with gigantic headphones, especially if it's around your neck...   Quote:

My friend has a pair of these that I got to listen to recently, and it was paired with a Darkvoice amp. I'm no audiophile by a long stretch, but it sounded pretty good to me.

I was in the same boat as you a couple months ago. For $200, I'd stay away from passive speakers, cause you'll need to spend even more on an amp. Has anyone coupled the ALO Panda speakers with the KingRex T20 amp? Would this work, cause I can get the KingRex amp for cheap?
