Little Dot MK VI / Little Dot MK VIII SE Owners Unite
Hi misterX What you say make sense, I need more time to trace the wiring of the meter. What I am guessing is that the auto biasing circuitry will maintain the current flow to be identical to go into the two power tubes, and the meter is to monitor the +ve signal tube (which should then be...- tll

from my experience with the LD6+, so not necessary relevant to your LD8 1. The meter monitors the loading current in two power tubes only, those which are for +ve signal current amplification 2. The loading current in the power tube depends on - the power tube itself - plat voltages at pin #2...- tll

thanks everyone who have responded to my post. I was wrong about the protection circuit. I did some research on the part CI237HA and tried to trace out how the protection circuit work by tapping the +ve and -ve signal out directly without passing through the protection circuitry. 1. Each...- tll

An update of the fault finding for my LD6+ 1. The voltage to all driver tubes are correct 2. The fault did not appear to be related to the wiring of MJ15020/21 I was suspecting that there was something wrong related to the output relay protection circuit. The design of this protection circuit...- tll

Help.. After upgrading the 330ohm resistors, 0.22uF capacitors and all the power supply related electrolytic caps, I have no sound coming out but buzzing. The two meters' reading are normal. I am now in the process of diagnosing the problems. Can anyone help to measure the power and driver...- tll

Recommendations for first desktop rig. Oppo HA-1, Schiit Mjolnir/Gungnir, Audio GD?
I have heard a HD700 sound really good with the Fostex A8 amp, the HD700 was connected to the A8 with a DIY cable made with mogami 2534. The DIY cable was terminated with 2x TRS jacks, one jack wired for left channel and the other for the right channel, both jacks connected to the two phono outs...- tll

Audio-GD Reference 7 - the new flagship DAC
Last night, my friend brought his Oyaide to my place and swap out my stereolab xv ultra. Don't like the DB-510, much prefer my xv ultra with more air, better image and more dynamic with no digital glare. The gent who sold his xv ultra to me bought a AU24. Quote:- tll

Quote: The CD7 + REF7 combo is amazing. What digital cable are you using? I had the stock canare BNC 75 ohm cable, it was OK. I don't usually spend big money (more than $100) on digital cable. However, after trying out my friend's sterveox xv ultra, I bought one myself, and...- tll

The above photos are the internal of the re-generated power supply of the REF7HE DAC. I have bought the original C3 preamp, later upgraded the standard power supply to a re-generated PS, the difference is quite substantial and worth the upgrade. Since then I bought all re-generated power option...- tll

same impression with ccshua about the v5. now I have no preference to digital or vinyl.Last night I listened to my digital system, don't want to turn it off, V5 is just another level compare to my previous DSP-1 (don't know which version). Audio-GD Reference 7 - the new flagship DAC
I have a REF-7HE, and in no doubt the NFB-7 is an excellent DAC. Together with the CD-7HE, REF-7HE is a totally musical instrument, as good as my decent vinyl system. Two days ago, I have upgraded the DSP-1 to V.5, my jaws drop! I don't think I need any more upgrade to my digital front...- tll

I have their REF3, I could say it is an excellent digital enhancer for its price. I use it with my stock logitech SB3, it just get transform completely. REF3 supports USB to spdif conversion and I am told that I could upgrade to 24/96 USB support for less than US$30, amazed by their...- tll
