My Revo 5.1 arrived today... popped in it and attached the coaxial cable. I set Foobar 8.3 to 24-bit padded to 32-bit with Kernel Streaming ouput. NO MORE STUTTERING! My flac files sound great. Thanks! John- Johncan

Stuttering with new DAC - Musical Fidelity X-DAC V3
Slid buffer length to 8000 ms and changed foobar2000.exe priority to high... I now have only one stutter at exactly 14 seconds. We are getting better! John- Johncan

Stuttering with new DAC - Musical Fidelity X-DAC V3
I reloaded the Sonica USB drivers and I have some improvement. It now only stutters twice: once at 8 seconds and once more at 10 seconds. I am still using kernel streaming at 24 bits with no DSPs and 44.1 output. The X-DAC V3 automatically upsamples to 192. I will probably go but a M-Audio...- Johncan

Stuttering with new DAC - Musical Fidelity X-DAC V3
I just purchased a new Musical Fidelity X-DAC V3 and I was planning on using it with my PC. The X-DAC V3 replaces a Musical Fidelity X-24K DAC. When I use the X-DAC V3 with my CD player, both the optical and toslink interconnects work perfectly. However, when I switch to toslink out from my...- Johncan

Not getting balanced input on M-Audio 2496
OK... call me stupid. I hooked a digital cable between the digital input and the digital output and played a mono file in Cooledit Pro 2.0. However, I could not tell if I was seeing the playback on the VU meters of CE Pro 2.0 or the input on the VU meters. Can someone clarify the loopback...- Johncan

Not getting balanced input on M-Audio 2496
Hey Glassman & other card experts. I have a M-Audio Audiophile 2496 with the latest drivers. My PC's OS is WinXP Pro SP2. I am trying to transfer some vinyl to CD via my PC. I am seeing about 3 to 4 dB difference in the left channel versus the right channel. I have tried various preamps...- Johncan

A challenge - what to do with old Compaq laptop?
I have my mother's old Compaq Presario 1270 laptop and it has some minor problems. The PCMCIA slot does not work but the single USB 1.1 jack does. With only one working USB jack, what could you do with this computer for audio? I hate to pitch it. I could get a USB hub and hook up a USB sound...- Johncan

EAC and used CDs
Have you tried Plextools Professional? It has secure ripping and may get through a scratched CD faster than EAC. If you did not get Plextools with your Plextor drive, you may be able to find it via a Google search. I use it more then EAC. John- Johncan

Chaintech AV-710 setup on older computer
My computer is not fast enough to resample to 96,000 . I have an AMD K6-2 533 cpu running Win 2000 Pro. Would there be any problems/harm in using the hi sample rate setting on the Chaintech AV-710 and no resampling through Foobar? Thanks!- Johncan

Ok, loaded Win2000 Pro and all is well. I get KS working with Foobar 8.3 at 24-bit padded to 32, no resampling, and digital out to my Musical Fidelity X-24K DAC. Sounds great! Thanks for all the help. John- Johncan

Error after AV710 flash
Glassman, I tried that last night as per your instructions in a previous post. I got an error in Foobar that states something like "too many channels selected." I don't remember the exact wording as I am at work and can't look at my computer in question. When I get home I can post the exact...- Johncan

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate it. I am not getting any sound out of the flashed Chaintech with the Prodigy drivers. I get nothing with either WaveOut and DirectSound selected in Foobar. Maybe I am not using the Prodigy control panel correctly. I would like to use the digital out to my...- Johncan

KS does not work with Win98SE. Can someone either help me with the setup of the Prodigy drivers or let me know how I can flash back to the Chaintech firmware. I really would like to have bit-perfect digital output in a Win98SE computer. But I am stumped. John- Johncan

Sonica & Win98SE
I have not tried yet. A family member just gave me a AMD K6-333 laptop with Win98SE and I was going to try and use it for a jukebox pulling music files off a desktop in the basement. I need to wipe out the hard drive, reformat it, and reload the OS. The computer has a lot of junk on it. If the...- Johncan
