Does anyone have experience with the Kef LS50?

I can get a good deal on a bundle of 2 LS50 and a sonos connect:amp (I'd basically be paying 100EUR for the sonos device) - would that be sufficient to drive the LS50s?

Does anyone have experience with the Kef LS50?

interesting - I would actually prefer the membrane in darker color instead of the copper.

Does anyone have experience with the Kef LS50?

I am toying with the idea of upgrading my surround setup with 5 LS50 but am a little at a loss as to what would be a reasonable AVR to power them with?

    VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

Quote:   Initially I had them normally (i.e. not over the ear, which I find to be a bit awkward to mount) but that does not work because of the cable very well. Over the ear I feel like the squareish back is too big (which is weird, because I always use the biggest tips I can find)... I...

    VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

So I finally got mine (after customs shenanigans that cost me extra)   After 6 hours of break in, I like the signature (with some bass eqing but I even do that on my HD650 so go figure) but man they are uncomfortable? First IEM that I ever found uncomfortable which makes me think I am doing...

    VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

How do these respond to EQing? I am a little worried that I might dislike them for lack of bass (happened to me with the RE0 for sure), especially after using a JVC FX500 for 2+ years...   Also, what is a reputable source with decent pricing? Lendmeurears seems kind of pricy...

    Impressions in Singapore

I have almost decided to get myself 1964Qs for my birthday but still need to get impressions done to do kick off the process. Can someone kindly point me to a trusted audiologist in Singapore?   Also, for the Singaporeans, how does tax/customs work on expensive shipments?

[Review] Impressions of the Final Audio Design FI-BA-SS versus the SM3, FX700 and e-Q7

Sounds interesting enough but I can't help but wondering about FAD's pricing. It's very close to the top end customs out there so what exactly is the market for these (beyond james and dfkt of course who seem to love ultra expensive universal IEMs for some reason :

Can anyone suggest a good place in Singapore to get impressions made?

Especially when said setup will reflect the environment the IEM will be used in in the future... No point in draging a desktop amp to the store to test what will mainly be a mobile setup, right?

Not convinced by JH5 and JH16 universals

Quote: Because they do not really work while traveling. Ever tried to use an external hard drive on a plane? Exactly. This whole discussion is on the premise that things need to be portable, if they did not, I could get an LCD-2 and be done.

Not convinced by JH5 and JH16 universals

I was sort of expecting someone in the first post to complain about the lossy files :D Quote: At home I run it out of my NG98 and an M-Stage but I have had rather minor improvements in driving my FX500 out of that compared to the Clip. The D2000 is probably on the easy to drive side...

Not convinced by JH5 and JH16 universals

In my case they both had mid sized silicone bi flanges on there, but they definitely sealed properly and fit seemed ok. Jamming in the  ACS custom was kinda weird but even that seemed to work out ok... Not quite sure what to do now.   I don't really have an issue with dropping the money on a...

Not convinced by JH5 and JH16 universals

(this is not an attempt to troll, rather a recount of todays impression) After several months in Singapore now, I finally did make it to the temple of headphones. My mission was simple: figure out what the JH craze is about. Armed with a trusty old Clip+ filled with 256kbps VBR tracks I asked to...

Where to buy Sansa Clip+ in Singapore

I unfortunately forgot my Clip+ at home. After going to Mustafa and Funan and not finding any clips (just a whole bunch of Sony and gasp iPods), I am sort of confused where to get one here (no, have not made it to Jaben yet, partially on purpose :). Ideally I would order it online but if I can...

    1964 Ears

The scaling part is reassuring and also the forgiveness of lower sources because I wont travel with my M-Stage in general.   From what I read, the Miracle is probably out (I still remember how disappointed I was in the RE0 so I am not going to risk the "flat" FR thing again). So I guess...

    1964 Ears

Two dumb questions   1. How does the quad sound straight out of a DAP (Clip+ in my case)? I understand it improves drastically with amping and I do have an M-Stage at home, but I travel a lot... 2. Does anyone know if they will come out with a 6 driver one in the near future?   Trying...

Review: Unique Melody Miracle 6 driver custom IEM

But Stereo Electronics does not list UM on their website? Would you happen to know at what price they offer the Miracle?   Still trying to figure this out. Maybe I should just go all out, buy the JH16 and be done with this :D   Can anyone comment how the Miracle responds to EQing?  ...

Review: Unique Melody Miracle 6 driver custom IEM

Thanks for the review, brilliant as usual.   This may be a little ridiculous price wise, but since its the only headphone I actually have on your list, how does the bass QUANTITY compare between the Miracle and the RX700 :)? I am trying to decide between a 1964Q, Miracle or the JH16 (yeah I...

HA NG98 with switchable DAC chips

In any case, the HA NG98 works just fine with a 12V PSU as well, that would easily solve the issues with the 17V opamps.... Mine is now using LT1028 and feeds into a M-Stage modded with an AD797BR

Review: Unique Melody Aero custom triple driver IEM

You must be the first person who says that UM IEMs punch you in the chest... Most describe them as rather bass light? however, I am not quite sure whether being punched in the chest is less or more bass compared to sitting on top of a sub

Review: Unique Melody Aero custom triple driver IEM

Yeah how about leveraging the cheaper labor in CN to compete on price? The Miracle for 500-600USD would likely sell like hot cakes. At 900, maybe not so much. Unless of course you are already running at capacity and can't scale up.

Review: Unique Melody Aero custom triple driver IEM

Thanks for the review, project86. Good stuff as always!   Quote: I fully agree. Though in MaoDi's review of the Miracle, he says the bass lightness (which held me back from buying a Mage, which, if you like the sound signature, looks like tremendous value) is resolved there. I am still...

Matrix M-Stage amp review: simple, cheap, and excellent.

So I just swapped an AD797BR into the M-Stage. The main difference that I notice is that gain seems to be lower now (subjectively need to turn up further to get the same volume out of it) - is that possible or is there something wrong?
