RUSH
My favorite Rush album is their first "Rush". My next two favorites would be "Fly by Night" and "Caress of Steel". I liked each subsequent album just a little less. I still like to listen to Rush both recorded and live but in my opinion their earliest stuff was their best. Favorite Rush song... -
What age did you grow out of metal?
My listening tastes have grown as I have aged but at 50 I am still a passionate listener of metal. I don't like all metal but I'm pretty sure I will never grow out of the stuff I really like. -
Some good Space-Rock recommendations?
Try some Secret Saucer or Nebula. -
Grado GR10 Sound Signature but with Better Build quality
Quote: I find the concern on build quality surprising. I think the build quality is outstanding and these have held up better than any other earphones I have purchased. I use these as my workout headphones, so they really get abused. I've sweated on them, stepped on them, yanked on the...- darcyb62

Like Metal, but don't like the cookie monster death vocals? ...Have you listened to Opeth?
Quote: DOUBLE WHUT? Mars Volta would be the last thing that comes to mind when I listen to these guys. I think its pretty neat how people relate to music. Each and every one us of hears something different and it triggers different things for each us. -

Where Do You Get Your Music From?
I've been finding some very interesting stuff on Bandcamp. The set your price feature is kind of cool too. -
How many songs do you have in your music library?
Quote: Not a "hate" issue just a "no like" issue. Just can't get into it. I don't get it.- darcyb62

How many songs do you have in your music library?
I have a little over 13k in my lossless library and a little over 15k in my 256k aac library (of which 13k would be compressed versions of the lossless files). Majority would be rock/metal but also a lot of blues, jazz, pop and a touch of country and symphony. Absolutely no rap / hip hop.- darcyb62

DAW-Fi ?
Quote: I can appreciate that but can you really transfer your "entire operation" over if you are using external plugins. For example, if I use Battery 3 for drums or Ozone Izotope for Mastering I don't think that's going over on a USB stick (I really don't know the answer to this so I am...- darcyb62

DAW-Fi ?
Quote: Just curious as to why this is important to you. I've heard a few people say this but I don't really why this makes any difference whatsoever. It sounds good but is it really functional? Seems to me plugins my cause some contention.- darcyb62

DAW-Fi ?
I am using Logic right now. Tried Reaper for a bit but came back to Logic. I use Garageband to capture ideas but bring them into Logic when I want to do anything serious. When I ran Windows I used Mackie's Traktion and Zynewave Podium. Both had somewhat different approaches DAWs. ...- darcyb62

Where Do You Get Your Music From?
I would say 99% of my music is purchased on CD from a small independent record/cd store in town. I pay a bit more buying from him but I really miss all the traditional brick and mortar stores closing (nothing like thumbing through a collection of cds). There are things he just can't get me and... -

Should I upgrade and to what?
So here is my current set up: iMac running Fidelia as my player (apple lossless files) connected to a Grant Fidelity TubeDAC-09 via optical pre-amp out of the TubeDac to the power stage of a NAD 355BEE (I found the sound improved somewhat when I bypassed the NAD pre-amp) connected...- darcyb62
