    headphones under $200

You might want to take into account the comfort issue of Grados, as they are not circumaural. I listen to mostly rock/metal and I can tell you while the 225s do sound great, they are not for extended listening. I ended up getting C-Pads (headphile.com) to counteract this issue. And if you really...

Looking for Headphones with Great Soundstaging/Sharp Transient Response

You can't go wrong with the AD900, they sound like just what you're looking for. Although they will certainly lack low-end tightness when running un-amped.

Fatal1ty Professional Series Gaming Headset Mk II

I've been playing Quake3 professionally since 2004 and I can tell you that there is nothing I've tried or heard of that can match the accurate sound-stage of the AD700. Do yourself a favor if you are a gamer, buy AD700s and get the zalman mic, you won't be disappointed.

which headphones to buy for a digital piano?

the ath-ad700 is about as good as it gets for under $100, they are very comfortable. they have a wide soundstage and slightly warm tone that is well suited for piano, listening to rick wakeman on the ad700s is the reason I decided to get the ad2000s and they are my favorite headphone so far.

    HFI 2200 vs AD700 vs SR80i vs MDR-V700DJ

I'd say go with the Grado SR80i, they will give the best sound of the bunch and you don't need an amp to power them. The AD700s are more comfortable and better for games and movies, but not as good as Grado for music.

    I'M HOOKED

Welcome to the Grado club! I've been using Grado for years and they never cease to impress me. Like xkRoWx said the SR60s don't even need amping, I put them into my Little Dot I+ and Audiotailor Jade and they sound almost the same. The only gripe I have about them is that they aren't...

    Recable for ATH-ADxxx

Has anyone tried to recable Audio-Technica ATH-AD700 or 900? I use these headphones for movies and games because of the large sound-stage, but I noticed that the stock cable is very cheap. My question would be what cable to use that would compliment an expansive sound-stage. Also has anyone...

    Are the ATH-AD900 for me?

From what I've read the soundstage in the AD700 is actually slightly larger, so I was assume that it's at least as large as the AD900. And they can be had much cheaper. Here's a pair for $70. http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f10/fs...g-k340-446300/

    Darkvoice/Woo alternatives for hd650s

ooh interesting indeed, thanks for the info. I have a pair of grado sr225 and was thinking i'd have to sell them as most amps don't power high and low impedances. How much better do those rs1 sound than the 650s, is it very noticeable or only a small margin?

    Darkvoice/Woo alternatives for hd650s

I've been having some difficulty finding a Darkvoice 332/3322 without importing, so I'm looking for alternatives. I'm looking for something in the range of 400-500 used, with excellent synergy with the Sennheiser 650s. I've heard positive things about the WA3, and the Gilmore Lite as...

    Best DAC/AMP for $200

I currently use a Little Dot I+ with Amperex 6AK5 tubes, and a Fubar II USB DAC. I got both for $230 and they sound absolutely amazing with my Grado SR225 (and with any other low impedance can I would imagine.)
