For less than $200, what do you guys think is the best DAC/AMP combo for general use with all different types of headphones and music.

i haven't heard too many, but i have the emu 0404 usb and i think it's a great dac/amp and based on what i've read also, it seems to be pretty good esp for the money.

How does something like that compare to the EF2 or the Tianyun Zero, or even the Asus Xonar/HT omega soundcards.

I currently use a Little Dot I+ with Amperex 6AK5 tubes, and a Fubar II USB DAC. I got both for $230 and they sound absolutely amazing with my Grado SR225 (and with any other low impedance can I would imagine.)

^ That seems like a good combo. Or you can get an all-in-one solution like the EF2.

EMU 0404...if you have high imp. phones. The Zero is okay too.

Are you saying the E-MU 0404usb is good for high impedance phones, but not for low impedance? Could you expand on that with more details to explain why that is please? thanks.

Having owned both, i'd say go ef2. The ef2 gives you nicer bass. The fubar iii has a better dac and the amp is more powerful, but overall the Grados sounded better with the EF2.
