Dark electronica with a female singer?
Check out The Glitch Mob - Between Two Points. That track features a female vocalist. If you dig their sound try their full lp Drink the Sea. The rest is instrumental but is excellent. -

iTunes match will upgrade your songs, but not automatically. It has to match them first. My library of about 25,000 yield about 90% songs matched. The unmatched songs are instead uploaded from your machine to the cloud. The matching software isn't perfect so there will be songs you know are...- Joelby

The IEM/Portable Headphones Deal Alerts Thread - Closed! Use the Deals Thread III instead.
Not sure if anyone mentioned this but Future Shop is clearing out their stock of Sennheiser "Adidas" edition phones. If you're lucky you can snag a pair of the HD 25-1 II for $50 CAD. I paid $40 for the store demo as some one had cleared all the stock in the Edmonton area.- Joelby

FiiO E17 "ALPEN" - First Impression + Final Thought
Have had my E17 for about a week and am really enjoying it. It's such a versatile little unit packed with features. Fiio has come a long way and continues to raise the bar on quality with each of their new products. Love the treble and bass eq. Just what I needed when the black metal gets too...- Joelby

I feel petty, but this annoyed me ...
I think we all should keep in mind that we're the only people obsessing over headphones and if you're looking for validation from anybody outside of the head-fi community you're in for a harsh reality check :)- Joelby

Is dust/hairs/fibers a problem?
Most IEMs have filters on the nozzles and more than likely on the ports, if they have them. So no worries really.- Joelby

Should I sell my Beats Pro for AKG701?
I think that's gonna be too much of a sound signature shock for you. The K701s are about as bass light as headphones get. Very analytical and pretty much the polar opposite of Beats. There's plenty of good options to ease out of those Beats. Depends what you want? What are you looking for...- Joelby

So...Why did He have to Use Beats as His Visual Example?
That slap chop is probably the biggest peice of crap ever made. So maybe he has a point about the headphones..... Dear God what have we become?- Joelby

Looking for the absolute best bass EXTENSION of a can (sub $500 ish)
I think the experience you're looking for is best left to a subwoofer. It's not bass extenson you're after, pretty much any decent headphone (especially a closed set) is going to reproduce 20 hz. Just run a low frequency sweep through them and you'll see. What you want is visceral impact which...- Joelby

Spent So Much Money and Still Disappointed
If you're going to take recommendations again I would suggest finding a retail store that you can demo them at. THe D2000 should be floating around somewhere. The Sony's won't be hard to find at all. Otherwise you may end up being disappointed again. Otherwise, just get the Beats. Guys on...- Joelby

The Monoprice MP9927 PG 208.. MP8320 (MEP-933)..The $7.11 club..
Quote: LOL no big deal. I think I'll still try to make a custom out of them. I'll use my dremel to trim the shell down to a ring around the driver and go from there.- Joelby

The Monoprice MP9927 PG 208.. MP8320 (MEP-933)..The $7.11 club..
Well the shells are definitely easy to crack. The drivers, on the other hand, are pretty much stuck to the nozzle side of the shell. Removing them destroys them. I think this is typical for a lot of dynamic iems.- Joelby

How should custom IEM perfect fit feel like in the ears?
Sounds like your right piece isn't snug enough. The seal shouldn't break that easily (or at all in a perfect world). If it breaks when your mouth is only an inch open that needs to be fixed. With the acrylic ear pieces I have the seal can and will break but only when my mouth is really wide...- Joelby
