U.S. headphone manufacturers?
If anyone is interested in this sort of topic i highly recomend the Pulitzer winning book by Jared Diamond, Guns, Germs, and Steel. It is an interesting look at the history of human society. Anyway, I don't think continental drift had much to do with the evolution or spread of humans because it...- stranger

That's what I assumed. If you really want to know, maybe the researchers at google could help you. I've never tried it but they say they'll answer any question; you name your price; satisfaction guarunteed. It sounds like a good idea. http://answers.google.com/answers/- stranger

E2 Foamy/silicone/custom mould alternative...
Would the aquafit junior or multiplux earplugs work as well with some modification? Are there plugs like the MusicsafeII, but without the filter, that are easily modified? The sleepsoftII earplugs would work exactly the same at 2/3 the price, since they only have different sound filters right...- stranger

Aiwa XP-V716C
Ok, no one has any experience with this Aiwa, but is 12 + 12 mW enough to sufficiently(IYO) drive a pair of low impedence full sized headphones like dt440's? Would it play music more than twice as loud as 5mW players?- stranger

I bought this pcdp new in 2000 and I'm satisfied with it, but I got curious about how it stacks up against the old classic pcdp's. Has anyone heard this player? I found the manual online and it says: "maximum output: 12 mW + 12 mW (EIAJ 16 ohms @ 1kHz) 500 mV (47 k ohms @ 1 kHz)" What do...- stranger

Ultrasone HFI-500
I too would like to hear more about these ultrasone dj1's. Are they the same headphone as the rest of the line comfort-wise? How bad is the tension and sweating? How is the bass; is it deep and tight from a pcdp or a cheap soundcard? Is it too bright? Finally, what does Ultrasone mean when they...- stranger

Hello Head-Fi'ers, I've been lurking the pages of head-fi for a few weeks, researching my options for a new pair of phones for under $150. My curiosity got the best of me and I finally found another good free email service(Yahoo isn't allowed for some reason ), so I could sign up and here i am...- stranger
