Doubt about earphones quality
Good headphones last years. Especially any headphone with a balanced armature driver, which are most of what you will hear talked about in this section. Shure, Westone and other big names have warranties for 2 years. You'll also notice people still have, talk about, and reference...- Bradan

New IEM for ~$250, upgrading from Shure SE310
Sorry, but the last time I was here about a year ago, the recommendations seemed a lot different. To clarify, I just want a really evenly toned IEM and FWIR the Westone 2 and the Shure SE425 are pretty neutral, and I like the look/quality and warranty of both brands. Which is better...- Bradan

New IEM for ~$250, upgrading from Shure SE310
Hi, I'm looking for a new IEM for around $200. I've got my eye on: Westone 1 ($140) Westone 2 ($250) Shure SE425 ($300) Phonak PFE ($140) I'm looking for something neutral sounding, that's good all around for most types of music.- Bradan

Does anyone here use Large Shure olives?
They "just" fit my ears. I have large canals apparently, the others require deep insertion like etys. Hold them in place a little longer and wait for the foam to stop crackling/expanding and see if they stay longer.- Bradan

What is distortion in headphones?
Distortion can sound like a clip, pop, fart, burp, hissiness etc. This is an extreme case: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kji0TPc20I- Bradan

Frequency Response graphs are a curious thing.
Quote: I don't know why you're so concerned. Headroom's a good company, and people tend to buy a headphone they want despite measurable "flaws" so to speak. As a marketing tool it's probably weaker than the "what we think" section. Those that value empirically measured accuracy like...- Bradan

Need some help choosing between Sennheiser HD 600/650 or Denon AHD 2000
You could just D2000 unamped. Buy the amp later. The only markl mod I could see being sensible was the dampening on the cup, that should take out most of the boom.- Bradan
