I can't help it but think both are similar.  Both have roomy ear cup, and very bright sounding. HD800 doesn't seem to have much bass quantity either like K701.  I don't currently have both to do a direct comparison. So far, I'm not very impressed with the 800.  It could be my amp though, HD800...

I've noticed this lately.  My ER4P with triple flanges and it's deep insertion, and the isolation creates the similar sound to custom IEMs.  Well at least to 1964-T as they are the only customs I've ever owned.  What do you guys think?

I have verified it, tube is not for AD700.  Why is that?  Anybody know?

Is it me or does imod sound way better without the rockbox?  I assume its better because the software is done by Apple on Apple hardware.  To me, Ihear a difference and Rockbox doesn't sound so great.
