Although I am looking for something to replace the XB500, I think I will just wait until the XB1000 hits the states and go from there - RaZrReD

Final Thoughts: Sony MDR-XB1000 vs. MDR-XB700 *** Pictures ***
@AZN The XB500 are the "diamond in the rough" when it comes to bass and not needing any sort of AMPAGE. However, I think you may want to look into combining the XB1000 with some sort of power if you want the full effect. Just my guess, I may be wrong though. Still waiting for them to be...- RaZrReD

Burn in Volume Loudness
What I do is wait for Friday night to come, plug them in and do NOT touch them until Sunday night or Monday morning. Hopefully you have enough music in your library to go that long ;):D- RaZrReD

New ATH-PRO700mk2 - Audio Technica
I am also waiting for a good review from someone who has had some experience with similar cans like the M50. The main thing I am looking at is the bass. I tried the PRO500BK and the bass was non-existant, even after a good 50+ hours straight of burn-in.- RaZrReD

Better bass headphones?
In regards to EQ, what do you guys use? What I mean is, is there any programs that I could DL that would allow proper EQing of songs? I am only using the equalizer via iTunes and that's it....- RaZrReD

HFI-580? And as far as having to "crank it to 11" to get bone shattering bass, either your source or your cans are sh1t.- RaZrReD

FIGHT THE BEATS HYPE (Ultrasone HFI-580/HFI 580 appreciation thread)
Thanks RPG If I read your post correct, it seems that the 580 would probably need some additional "power" to get the best sound possible?- RaZrReD

Final Thoughts: Sony MDR-XB1000 vs. MDR-XB700 *** Pictures ***
I say refined and recessed because straight out of the box, the booming bass wasn't there. I had both of them running out of my MBP and even playing the same album (yes I listened to a whole album), the XB500's bass was still thunderous compared to what the 700 had. I even had to crank up the...- RaZrReD

Sony does make their eXtra Bass IEMs with the flat cables. They are just ungodly huge and hard to keep in ear. I agree with possibly getting the XB500 and comparing them to the XB1000. When I had the XB700, the bass seemed really recessed and REFINED compared to it's younger sibling.- RaZrReD
