Shanling M1: An iPod Nano Competitor / DAP || USB DAC || USB Transport || Bluetooth 4.0 + aptX || DSD
although it does convert DSD to PCM when listening to it directly. It does a good job of sending the DSD files to the mojo when used as a transport which picks up DSD 128/256 just fine. but I get your point, makes sense to convert the files to a more friendly format. the actual difference...- faw88

Shanling M1: An iPod Nano Competitor / DAP || USB DAC || USB Transport || Bluetooth 4.0 + aptX || DSD
theoretically, yes, I don't see why not. Edit : Just tried it, Works like a charm. Streams Almost all formats including Flac and MP3. with the exception of DSD obviously, DSD over bluetooth is not supported.- faw88

Shanling M1: An iPod Nano Competitor / DAP || USB DAC || USB Transport || Bluetooth 4.0 + aptX || DSD
USB-C port is a big deal for me, I Plugged in my Samsung Hard disk via a USB-C to USB-C Cable and it worked perfectly, Played all my DSD files through the hard disk very fast with no lag whatsoever. I was Pleasantly surprised. I think herein lies the only discernible difference vs the AP60...- faw88

LZ-A4 Impressions and Discussion Thread
How do these stack up to some of the 5BA and 6BA DIY options currently available at a similar price on AliExpress? I'm really confused about what to get. the customizability on these is supreme, but I'm talking just raw SQ wise, separation and staging etc? will they be able to hold up to a 6BA?- faw88

Chinese / Asian Brand IEM Info Thread
How do you guys reckon the LZ-A4 Stacks up to the DIY 846's ? the A4's are 2BA+1DD and in a similar price range theres sellers selling 5BA and even 6BA sets. But I know its not as simple as loading a lot of driver and expecting something to sound great. Whats the better choice amongst these?- faw88

Astell&Kern XB10 Extreme Bluetooth Adapter
Shanling m1 supports AAC format. it supports bluetooth receiving function. since all of mojo's inputs are digital, the only way to give mojo a signal is via unprocessed digital input. so when you connect the m1 to mojo via USB-C to micro-USB cable, It merely acts like a bluetooth receiver and...- faw88

Astell&Kern XB10 Extreme Bluetooth Adapter
Yes it does, and also DSD. The way I look at it, I can have all my HQ DSD FLAC music in the M1 on the memory card, and I can stream Spotify/tidal over bluetooth via aptx with minimum loss, It doesn't have aptx HD but I'm ok with aptx as well. Even aptx HD can't stream loss FLAC or DSD. so I...- faw88

Shanling M1: An iPod Nano Competitor / DAP || USB DAC || USB Transport || Bluetooth 4.0 + aptX || DSD
No, I haven't. But, I've read a lot of reviews of the xduoo, its very well regarded for the price/spec ratio. I'm pretty happy with my mojo. but if you're comparing m1 to the xd-05 I'm pretty confident that the xduoo should be a huge improvement. it outputs 500mv into 32mhm load compared to the...- faw88

Shanling M1: An iPod Nano Competitor / DAP || USB DAC || USB Transport || Bluetooth 4.0 + aptX || DSD
for starters, It has a pretty decent top of the line AK4490 dac chip. And it has MUCH more power output compared to the m1, So it'll be able to power 300ohm headphones with ease. other than that the native dsd support also helps. I'm not recommending it as a replacement for M1 rather as a...- faw88

How about the Xduoo XD-05? You can find it for a good price. Last I checked it was as low as $140-150 on Aliexpress. I'm sure the m1 would pair well with it.- faw88

Shanling M1: An iPod Nano Competitor / DAP || USB DAC || USB Transport || Bluetooth 4.0 + aptX || DSD
@shanling It would be great if you introduced some sort of way to control which files to play on the m1 via an app on the iPhone. it would effectively kill the chord poly. I don't know if that would be an easy implementation though.- faw88

Is there any ways to control the files on the m1 via your phone perhaps? Like the dsd files on SD card. Can i play them using my phone only?- faw88

Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion
Clarity and Details? Really? I would like to disagree. I think you 'feel' the sound is more detailed because of the more restricted soundstage? because the sound feels closer to you. I tried my Fostex X00's right after the brainwavs 400i's. and the fostex were offering identical width and space...- faw88

Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion
We cant really quantify 'soundstage' but its quite drastic. its enough to make me want to switch back to the focus pads. and yes the sound is slightly better if you consider the sub-bass and the bass, which have more texture to them. BUT the sparkly highs have diminished slightly IMO. and I...- faw88

Astell&Kern XB10 Extreme Bluetooth Adapter
Missed opportunity by A&K IMO, They could've made this the ultimate wireless transport by just adding a line-out. I would've preferred it over the much more expensive Poly streaming module, no questions asked.- faw88
