TRINITY - PHANTOM Series - New thread + WORLDS FIRST PUSH PULL HYBRID IEM!*
Oh Well. At the very least, it has become clear why they decided to go with the name "Phantom". That's all they ever were going to be for a large proportion of their customers.- cynan

TRINITY - PHANTOM Series - New thread + WORLDS FIRST PUSH PULL HYBRID IEM!*
Not that I am hopeful at this point, but I got a Shipping Update notification by email regarding my PM6 order on December 22 (and of course, I can't check my account on the website). I don't suppose this means there was a chance they were shipped?- cynan

TRINITY - PHANTOM Series - New thread + WORLDS FIRST PUSH PULL HYBRID IEM!*
From Trinity Audio website: At the risk of injecting a bit of optimism into this downward spiraling thread, I got a "shipping update" notification today for the Master 6 (ordered last July). I wonder if this means they're finally on their way... Any one else get a shipping update? I do have a...- cynan

Does anyone know if the bluetooth lanyard has a mic? It's been mentioned that the Air will have one.. And the description mentions that you'll be able to "take calls" with the lanyard.- cynan

Xuelin Ihifi 800, a brief introduction
In case anyone else is wondering about flash media for their rockboxed players, thought I'd report back. Tried to find that particular Patriot 128GB card, but couldn't source it easily (looks to be an end of line model number?) Anyway, found a Kingston 64GB card that was also Class 10 (as...- cynan

TRINITY - PHANTOM Series - New thread + WORLDS FIRST PUSH PULL HYBRID IEM!*
I have been using the Sabres for almost 2 weeks now. I don't know if they are the panacea for dynamic IEMs, but for the preorder price, they are very good (and as others have mentioned, the accessory bundle is a bit over the top). They have great authoritative bass without overdoing it too...- cynan

Xuelin Ihifi 800, a brief introduction
I've tried using guiformat as well. (In case you are wondering where you can get it now that it's not on Xuelin's website, here is link). It doesn't make any difference. Neither does changing the allocation unit size. It's quite strange that the stock Xuelin firmware reads my Silicon Power...- cynan

Thanks for the feedback. Could you tell me which specific PNY card it is? Any info on card speed? Formatted as FAT32 (allocation unit size?).- cynan

Rockbox Xduoo X3
FYI, I installed Rockbox builds (also kindly provided by XVortex) for the Xuelin iHifi 800. It works great with the 16GB microSD card it came with. Also tried a 128GB microSD (silicon power) and very unstable (can't even normally boot without error/crash). Interestingly, the stock firmware on...- cynan

Xuelin Ihifi 800, a brief introduction
I realize it's been a couple of months since this forum's been active, but I thought I'd ask: Has anyone who has Rockboxed the iHifi 800 had any luck with 128GB microSD cards? The 16GB card that it came with works fine. So I bought a 128GB card (Silicon Power) that seems to read fine with...- cynan

Xuelin Ihifi 800, a brief introduction
Got the Ihifi 800. Loading rockbox went smoothly (thanks XVortex!). Though I was a bit worried to see that after overwriting the old .rockbox fold with the update, it was substantially smaller. Oh well. seems to work :) . Incidentally, the PC I used has a core-i7 Sandybridge gen processor...- cynan

Xuelin Ihifi 800, a brief introduction
Any male-male 3.5mm (1/8 inch) cable should work. Doesn't it come with one? Seems that most (all?) Rockbox implementations downsample to 44.1 kHz (otherwise the rockbox package would need to be modified to suit the capabilities of each player)? If so, perhaps once 24/192 DACs and...- cynan

Xuelin Ihifi 800, a brief introduction
Excuse the uniformed question, but any chance that rockbox enables (or could in a future version) DSD playback on the Ihifi 800? I'm wondering what the limitation is seeing as other DACs with the ES9018K2M chip seem to be able to natively decode DSD (and not convert to PCM as with older Sabre...- cynan

Campfire Audio - Introducing 2 new models Hello Andromeda and Nova

Xuelin Ihifi 800, a brief introduction
Given that the Ihifi 800 seems to be going for <$200 right now including shipping from a couple of sellers (even one on ebay), and the new Rockbox development, I gave into my curiosity and pulled the trigger. Was tempted to go for the 960, but given the price reduction on the 800, and the more...- cynan

Xuelin Ihifi 800, a brief introduction
Thanks for replying to my post. It does beg the question for someone like me looking to get a single iHiFi DAP though: Given that the 960 is roughly 33% more expensive than the 800 (ie, say about $300 vs $400 for the sake of argument). Would you still say that the 960 is superior and worth...- cynan

Xuelin Ihifi 800, a brief introduction
Based on the frequency response posted here from Reference Audio Analyzer, the iHiFi 800, like the 770, seems to have a notable drop in bass below 80hz. The iHiFi 960 and the FiiO players don't seem to have this. This seems to correspond with jdog's excellently detailed notes on bass comparisons...- cynan

VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread
I've been enjoying the GR07 Classics for about 4 months. Probably the best $100 IEM I've owned (not that I've owned all that many). I was wondering if anyone knew what type of plastic the housing in the recent Classics was? Even though I think I've been pretty careful with them, I somehow...- cynan

Audio-gd USB-32 Firmware, Drivers, and Feedback Thread
Was able to update no problem on my NFB-10WM (with swapped out USB-32 receiver for the Tenor). Tried with Windows 7 sound driver and Kernel Streaming in Foobar so far. I don't know how easy it will be to update an original NFB-10SE (with the Tenor 7xxx series USB interface) to USB-32. It only involves soldering 6 wires - I updated my NFB-10WM and posted about it earlier in the thread (see pics). But the USB interface chip on the original NFB-10SE is right on...- cynan

Audio-GD NFB-11.32 & NFB-11 (2014) (Delivery & Impression Thread)!!!
Quote: The best DAC/Amp combo I have heard with the HD 650s FOR THE MONEY is the Audio-dg NFB-10 (with balanced HD 650s). You can get the HD 650s and NFB-10.32 for pretty close to $1000, never mind the amp alone, and, at least to me, the combo is pretty hard to beat unless your budget...- cynan
