New Audio-Technica Portable: ATH-ES55 (Baby ES7?)
I'm in Japan, and I bought a pair of ES55's for the Japanese going rate, which was around $85. I owned a pair of ES7's a while ago, but they went missing after I left them in a classroom for 10 or 15 minutes, so I don't have them to compare. The ES55's are much smaller, lighter, and more...- threEchelon

Do I need 2 different multi filiment nylon for the "Y" or does 1 size fit all? and other ?'s
If you're going to take off the rubbery sheathing, then you might as well take off the shield as well. The shield won't provide any benefit and removing it will reduce the weight and increase the flexibility of the cable.- threEchelon

Which headphones to get after es7s(first headphones)??
I don't think you're going to get a step up from the ES7's if you're only spending $150.- threEchelon

Looking for Source for UP-OCC, 24AWG Stranded Silver and Copper Wire
Take Five Audio sells 28 AWG solid silver and copper Jupiter brand wire with cotton insulation. That would work well for a headphone cable.- threEchelon

HELP ME SAVE THE UNWORTHY!!!!!
IIRC, the bass would be less because of the large gauge. Try some 28 or 30AWG.- threEchelon

Philadelphia, PA ?
I wasn't able to get a room for a long enough time. The school still isn't normally open on the weekends so having it open for just a couple hours was a security risk. I'm sorry I wasn't able to procure a location in time for the meet. I hope you guys are able to organize a fall meet...- threEchelon

Philadelphia, PA ?
I'm sorry I haven't given an update to the thread lately. I never got a response to my email that I sent, so I'll try calling the guy tomorrow. If anyone else in the area can check some possible locations, that would be much appreciated. I think this meet can still pull through as...- threEchelon

Hold off the gear until we get a location and date confirmed. chzplz, everyone who gave colored dates of availability will be available on 8/17 with the exception of Superpredator, who is busy with moving and other life related things; he is still uncertain of his availability on 8/17.- threEchelon

Can detachable cable connectors be added to hardwired HP's?
I say hire a DIY'er to do it for you. I'll even help you dissuade yourself from the Jena recable. I have trustworthy sources who don't like Jena wire in LOD's, and I don't think it'd make much sense in a headphone cable either. The gauge is enormous and not a good fit for the small signal...- threEchelon
