The first pair I bought lasted me a year and a half before one channel cut out. I bought a second pair without hesitation.- Darknecron

Review by 'Darknecron' on item 'TTPOD T1-E High Definition Dual Dynamic Professional In-ear Earphone'
First off, I would like to say that anyone who gives this less than four stars either: 1. Received a fake pair 2. Is a troll / is lying 3. Has godawful taste in sound I'm not actually going to write a review at all... twister6 's review pretty much covers it. I do have to say...- Darknecron

The first pair was defective, but the second pair was indeed operating as intended. Their treble is very overpowering with velour pads (more than any other set of cans I own [ I don't have the Superlux set mentioned above]) since the velour reduces bass / midbass quantity. With the HTF600's...- Darknecron

The warmness of the HTF600 flattens out into neutrality when you use velour earpads. I am using the ones from my NXG HeadTrip NX-HTDJ...it was quite a squeeze to get them on though. I also discovered that the NX-HTDJ sounds infinitely better with the HTF600's pleather pads...the NXG...- Darknecron

Sigh...then either the retailer I ordered mine from is intentionally selling defective units, or NXG is re-branding Monoprice's factory rejects...or they just have godawful quality control.- Darknecron

Unless I received a SECOND defective pair, those NXG NX-HTDJ I mentioned earlier (rebrand of the Monoprice 108323) are VERY bright. Almost intolerably so (brightest cans i have ever heard). Yet again, the bass (which is quite light) is several decibels louder from the left cup than from the...- Darknecron

Yep, they are actually cheaper on amazon in the US ($15.70 after shipping). The first pair I got was defective...everything under 120hz came out of the left earpiece...very strange. Some kind of impedance mismatch / not enough winds on one of the drivers? No idea. I'll be pissed if the...- Darknecron

IKR...that's why I have 8 headphones: Panasonic HTF600 - Good CAL! - AMAZING JVC HA-S500 - bad, even with mods / EQing. Not capable of detail. Marley EM-JH020-MI - Terrible...until you mod / EQ them, to hell. Then Very Good / Amazing NVX XPT100 - UNFRIGGINBELIEVABLE Koss KSC75 -...- Darknecron

I highly suggest these for comparison as well. They are a cheaper, yet upgraded, rebrand of these well-known Monoprices, which are constantly compared to the Panasonic HTF600. By "upgraded," I mean they have velour pads and, a sturdier cable, and aluminum side-plates.- Darknecron

I have to say...the NVX XPT100 simply blows the CAL away. I did a short first-impression on the XPT100s several weeks ago, and I don't think I accurately portrayed the capabilities of these monitoring headphones - yes, these are indeed monitoring headphones, and damn good ones at that...- Darknecron

Right off the bat, I notice that the NVX 100's bass goes deeper, has MUCH more impact, and MUCH better texture than the CAL!'s. The treble is a bit rolled-off in spots (6500-9000 and after 15000), but can be improved by an equalizer with bands at 8k and 16k. Clarity blows the CAL!s away...- Darknecron

It's design is for bassheads, no question about that. However, I have to use almost equally extreme EQ settings to make my S500s listenable.- Darknecron

The JVC HA-S500 thread.
I own both. The S500 can't compete, even after they have been equalized. The Marleys are particularly good with instrumental separation and have a soundstage that surpasses my Creative Arurvana live, as well as slightly less (but much tighter) bass, and less laid-back highs (they actually...- Darknecron

If you have a 5-band equalizer handy, I highly suggest these headphones as a possible upgrade. The EQ settings I use are -9 / -12 / +2 / +7 / +9. My review at Amazon.- Darknecron
