Official HIFIMAN HE1000 Impressions Thread
For those who have heard the v2, how huge are the differences between v1 and v2 in soundstage? Does the v2 trade soundstage for imaging?- BleaK

Schiit Valhalla Tube Rolling thread.
After trying some different tubes in both the output (the long in back) and input (short in front) tubes in the Valhalla 2 this is some points I came up with to those who just purchased the Val2 and/or are looking for trying new tubes: - Don't bother try rolling output tubes( long tall ones...- BleaK

Valhalla 2 review coming soon!
You're gonna love it! As for the tubes, I've tried to roll both 6922 and 6N6P. The stock are really really good. But if you venture into tube rolling on the pre-tubes, I would recommend to try to find some Russian 6H23p(-EB) from pre 80's (around 50$ for matched pair). Excellent tube for the...- BleaK

NAD M51 Direct Digital DAC Impressions
Got the NAD M51 yesterday. Just usb (without power line) out of a PC it sounds really great. Some thoughts: Bass: Strong and goes deep, yet not overwhelming the overall sound. Mids: Detailed and lifelike. Slight "soft" sound, not any harshness. Treble: Continuing the non-harness...- BleaK

A short (audiophile) guide to Winamp (/w Maiko WASAPI)
Not to be rude or anything, but everything I said is in the guide. Don't worry too much about sampling, unless your dac is a NOS-dac it will upsample everything anyway.- BleaK

A short (audiophile) guide to Winamp (/w Maiko WASAPI)
No you change it from 0 to 44100 or other, down the page you see "24+padded", change that to 16. May I ask why you are doing this?- BleaK

A short (audiophile) guide to Winamp (/w Maiko WASAPI)
It's all in the first post. :) Preferences -> output -> Maiko Wasapi -> configure. Then in the top you choose exclusive: Then you tick all the boxes like the picture, and if you want to have 16-bit and 44,1kHz you must put "slave to input sample rate": 44100 , and "slave to...- BleaK

Valhalla 2 review coming soon!
That's perfectly normal for the first minutes, then the hum sort of disappear. It always has a really low hum, but only if you put your ears right next to it. I can't hear it 1 meter from the amp. Try some Russians 6H23P, or Amperex orange globe. But beware on ebay, lotsa fakes going...- BleaK

Schiit Lyr Tube Rollers
Hey guys! I found a pair of the Amperex USN-CEP 7308 White '65 at tubeworldexpress, however I wonder if they take time to burn in. I have valhalla 2, but this thread is much more active with tube rolling (and the output tubes of the V2 don't change the sound too much). Even after 20 hours I...- BleaK

6922 Tube Review - 17 Top 6922 6N23P E88CC CCa 7308 E188CC tubes
Thank you for this comprehensive review! I found a pair of the Amperex USN-CEP 7308 White '65 at tubeworldexpress, however I wonder if they take time to burn in. Because even after 20 hours I still think the sound is closed in and the treble is harsh (harsher than stock Valhalla 2). The bass...- BleaK
