Denon D5000 - where the heck is the serial number?
I want to send my D5000's in to Denon to get the cable replaced. It takes a lot of jiggling and squeezing on the end to get both channels to produce sound, otherwise it's just the right driver. On their support site you have to fill out a form with various information like the serial number...- _jon

The German Maestro GMP 8.35 D Monitor in the studio... serious about audio, INDEED!!
It's my only amp so I have nothing to compare it to.. except for the 0404 USB's onboard headphone amp which is pretty abysmal. but I would describe it as a limited soundstage, but great well-defined punchy bass, and smooth non-sibilant highs. The DAC on the EF2 is slightly thinner and less...- _jon

Best Amp/DAC combo with HD650's for around $200
I would say you're leaning in the right direction. I have a very similar setup and for $200 the EF2 can't be beat as a DAC/amp combo. The DAC is a little thinner than my 0404 USB but the difference is almost negligible and especially after burn-in, the EF2's amp has great warm tubey synergy with...- _jon

The German Maestro GMP 8.35 D Monitor in the studio... serious about audio, INDEED!!
Has anyone paired the 8.35 D (or any similar German Maestros) up with a Woo Audio 6 or a Darkvoice 3322? I'm in the market for an amp upgrade from my HiFiMan EF2 and was wondering how they synergize. Looking for a wwaaarrrrmmmm tubey sound which would power a 8.35 D and my HD650's well.- _jon

Headphone Noob - What Will Fit My Needs?
For a budget of $100, the only recommendation I'd make is the Alessandro MS-1. It was my entry into the "audiophile" market and if I didn't loan them out (they broke in a friend's possession..) I'd still be in love with them. Very eargasmic for the money!- _jon

The "forget you're wearing headphones" effect
I'm using a HiFiMan EF2. HD650 is becoming more and more attractive. Again, I want to compliment the GMP 8.35 D's upfront, punchy, accurate qualities with something that will put the music "around" me rather than "on" me.- _jon

The "forget you're wearing headphones" effect
Thanks for the opinions guys. oqvist: I am definitely curious about changing the pads on the 8.35 monitors, but I think I remember some reports that the bass drops out a little - maybe I'm a budding basshead but I don't know if I could part with any of the 8.35 D's bass. I even want more at...- _jon

The "forget you're wearing headphones" effect
Hey all, newbie here again. I've really been enjoying my new German Maestro GMP 8.35 D Monitors for the past month or so. They have a very up-front and detailed presentation which is very ideal for my mixing/monitoring work. However now I am looking for another set of cans to compliment...- _jon

The German Maestro GMP 8.35 D Monitor in the studio... serious about audio, INDEED!!
Well, I just pulled the trigger on the EF2... I'm sorry wallet, I tried to be easy on you I'll let you know how how the 8.35's sound with them as soon as I find out myself! I'll also be testing using the EF2's onboard USB DAC vs. routing my E-MU 0404 USB's DAC into the EF2's headphone...- _jon

Help me get started with my German Maestro GMP 8.35 D Monitors
Hi everyone, newbie here again.. I just got my new German Maestro GMP 8.35 D Monitors, and I'm very happy with them running from the headphone out on my E-MU 0404 USB DAC/amp. However, I would like to start getting into the warmth of tube amps. I've read a lot of opinions here on head-fi...- _jon

The German Maestro GMP 8.35 D Monitor in the studio... serious about audio, INDEED!!
Just got my 8.35 D Monitors in the mail today. After spending about an hour getting acquainted with each other, I can safely say I'm very happy with this purchase. They sound amazing! They sound great right out of the box amped by my E-MU 0404 USB. Apparently, iirc, these cans don't need any...- _jon

Amp in combination with 0404 USB as DAC?
Hey, newbie here.. Recently acquired a E-MU 0404 USB. I originally intended to use it as an entry-level DAC/amp for listening on my Alessandro MS-1's, UE Super.fi 5 pro's and my German Maestro GMP 8.35 D Monitors (on the way from Germany!). While I like the E-MU's recording functions, I'm...- _jon
