Fiio E1 ?
Thank you for your Answer I would really like a very small thing, not somerthing too heavy, as the iPod Classic is already quite heavy. And what about the output impedance of the E1 ? And the E6 ? Would it be better for my xba-4 ?- alex110394

Fiio E1 ?
Hi, I have an iPod Classic (the last generation), and the Sony XBA-4. The iPod's sound is correct, but that's all. So, I was wondering if it could be enhanced... Besides, the iPod classic has an output impedance around 5 Ohms. My earphones, the Sony XBA-4 have an impedance around 8...- alex110394

A new music player after a J3
thicker ?! I thought the size of the iPod classic didn't change since the third generation... The Classic I ordered has this size : 4.1 / 2.4 / 0.41 On the apple website, the size of the Classic has exactly the same size as the one I ordered on Amazon So, I may have the new...- alex110394

A new music player after a J3
After having thought a moment, I think I surely bought the latest generation apple is currently selling. Why would Amazon sell an old version ? Because, when you type on amazon.co.uk "ipod classic", you directly find the one I bought, not the one which is said to be the 7th generation. ...- alex110394

A new music player after a J3
Quote: Yes, I'm 19. So I don't really like the old designs I've ordered the iPod classic, it is not expensive at all (220 euros), so I think it is the best quality/price music player (sorry I'm french, so I don't know how to say "le meilleur rapport qualité/prix ^^)- alex110394

A new music player after a J3
Ok, thanks :) So, in fact, if you hadn't known about the output impedance of the earphones you've just tried and if you hadn't known about the 8:1 rule, you would never have pointed out that there was any problem ? So, with the Classic, would it be a problem to use my XBA-4 ?- alex110394

[ REVIEW / COMPARISON ] Two Flagships Pass in the Night: Sony XBA-4 Review VS the MDR-EX1000 [Updated with 7550 and XBA-40!]
According to what I've read, the XBA-4 seem to react very differently from one music player to another. Some people say it sounds great with sony walkmans, whereas they have a high output impedance... I also own an iPod nano 5G, and, though it has an output impedance of 5 Ohms, it...- alex110394

Quote: I own the XBA-4, and I really like them. But I'm wondering if they are at the same level than other earphones such as the SM3 or the Westone 4. First, what are the major differences between the XBA-4 and the XBA-40 ? Do they both offer the same amount of details ? Should I...- alex110394

A new music player after a J3
I think I'm going to take the iPod Classic ! But there is maybe a problem : the output impedance ! Indeed, I own the sony xba-4 which have an output impedance of 8 Oh. According to what I've read, the output impedance of my future music player shouldn't be higher than 1 Ohms. But the iPod...- alex110394

Ahah ! We just have different tastes ! Just, without amp, how is the sound of the iPod classic compared to the J3 ? How is the "raw" sound ? The iBasso is too expensive- alex110394

A new music player after a J3
I don't want to have an amp. I use my music player out, not at home. So, I do want my next music player to be transportable. You really seem to think that the iPod classic does have a good sound quality. So I think I'm going to take it, because it is all what I'm looking for : huge...- alex110394

SQ is comparable to the J3 ?! I thought the J3 was better in SQ... Or in every case, this is what I read on the internet. I'm a bit surprised. But I think I'm going to take it, it's not really expensive compared to other players.- alex110394

A new music player after a J3
Hi everyone ! I have the Cowon J3 16Go + 64Go SD card, and, regrettably, the storage is nearly completely full. So, I will soon buy a new music player, with a huge capacity of storage. The Ipod Classic could be great, but is the sound bad ? How is the sound compared to the J3...- alex110394

[ REVIEW / COMPARISON ] Two Flagships Pass in the Night: Sony XBA-4 Review VS the MDR-EX1000 [Updated with 7550 and XBA-40!]
Hi everyone ! I own the XBA-4, and I really like how they sound : this is perfect for the musics I listen to, such as pop, rock, and alternative. I use them on a Cowon J3, and, though I really like the sound, I feel like something is wrong. That's very difficult to explain, but I feel...- alex110394

Klipsch image X10 vs Sony XBA-4 vs TripleFi 10
Quote: Build quality is not a priority, but earphones of this range have to resist more than 2 years, at least. Yes, I will use my earphones outside, in the train and in the subway. So, the cable must be durable. So, I think I will choose the XBA-4... They have a great...- alex110394

Klipsch image X10 vs Sony XBA-4 vs TripleFi 10
Quote: Yes, I'm looking for a similar sound like the Klipsch custom 3. However, I've owned the UM3x after my custom 3 fell apart. So, I don't want a downgrade, I want to stay in the same range. So, the XBA-4 seem to be what I'm looking for : a V-shape sound, strong bass, and much more...- alex110394

Klipsch image X10 vs Sony XBA-4 vs TripleFi 10
I do know the XBA-4 have a sound that does not appeal to everyone. But I really love this kind of sound, especially the V-shape sounds. When I read some reviews and tests about the XBA-4, it reminds me of the Klipsch Custom 3's sound. Deep bass, funny treble, warm sound, this is exactly...- alex110394
