That's right :) They don't seem to be adverse to the hygiene issues for trying IEMs in store. They won't accept returns on used IEMs though.- shureThing

Jays q-JAYS & s-JAYS, Prototype impressions
If you could update the graph with measurements of some other common IEMs like the ER-4, that would be awesome and very highly appreciated! :) Quote:- shureThing

Very nice review :) I was wondering if you had any Shure IEMs. I wanted to know whether you could fit the Shure cables to these IEMs.- shureThing

ER4P > HF5? Are you sure?
I haven't read the past four pages so I'm not sure if any/all of these points were mentioned. I've had experience with a number of Etymotic models, including the MC series, the HF series as well as the ER series. To my ears, all sound quite similar, with the MC series being slightly less...- shureThing

Need help picking IEM
Perhaps you can try the excellent AX-35 hybrid IEM by Astrotec? It combines both a balanced armature and dynamic driver in a great sounding, reasonably priced and well built package.- shureThing

Can the Shure se846's be the last pair I buy?
Not sure whether they'll let you ship them out of Australia, but the RRP here seems to be $1000 AUD, but they can be found for $950 AUD ... according to Dr. Google, that's around $750 USD.- shureThing

Need help picking IEM
Looking at measurements listed on the Golden Ears website, it looks like the DT990s have more bass than the HF5. However, the HF5 also has less treble than the DT990s, so it may still suit your requirements. Personally, the I find the HF5s very versatile, exhibiting great clarity and a lack of...- shureThing

x90, zero audio tenores, and e-12
An amplifier is just supposed to make the sound louder. If it's louder, then it's doing the job perfectly fine. It's actually a really desirable trait to have the amp not have any impact on the sound. By the sounds of things, your IEMs probably don't need an amp.- shureThing

I could use some words of wisdom on budget IEMs.
I haven't tried the exact rig that you're talking about, but I have tried the HD600 out of an O2 and I'm assuming the sound would be quite similar. I would say that sound is quite smooth natural sounding with a mild mid-bass boost that creates some thickness and slightly veils the mids and...- shureThing
