The press release - "Tuned by the Cali Swag District solely to their song teach me how to dougie, the new Denon D7100 boasts both drivers and mahogany that have been cured in the finest crunk juice for a fuller sound. HD 598 or AKG q701?
Come on guys, the op is looking for some advice and this argument is not helping him or her. To the op, if you can possibly hear the headphones (or even change your choices to ones you can hear) that is by far the best approach. It is extremely difficult to work out from the descriptions of...- Fidelity_Fiend

Audiophilia as a burden?
Its good to know I am not alone in this madness. Often I wonder if the trick is not just to fight the critical listener with gear but instead to try and unlearn it altogether. I know I have spent many hours researching gear that would have been better spent locating new music.- Fidelity_Fiend

The unofficial Skyrim thread.
No more mountain climbing for you! IO hope this thread is thoroughly riddled with folly like this. Seriously though, Skyrim is awesome, I need to know Sapphire's real name grrrrr.- Fidelity_Fiend

Audiophilia as a burden?
Presumably everyone who comes to this website comes because they love audio (generally music). An expression we hear time and time again in audio (and experience if we are lucky) is 'to get lost in the music'. I know alot of people will know what I am talking about when I say that, to simply...- Fidelity_Fiend

Deus Ex 3
As the title says, I'm looking forward to playing this. Just wondered if any of you fine people are already living the dream, if so what do you think? Do we have an original deus on our hands or is it more like the limp sequel? Do we ever get a skull gun for our head (Gunther lusts after what...- Fidelity_Fiend

Monster Beats Pro is like a Sony XB
I have read the thread. I realise your not just coming into the thread. TBH it was a bit irrelevant (in terms of the thread I posted on) and I don't intend to hijack the thread further. As I say, I didn't mean to imply you were a basher or a newcomer, I guess they are thoughts that have been...- Fidelity_Fiend

Monster Beats Pro is like a Sony XB
I am saying that flaming people as seems to have become the norm is a shame. Yes, its pointed language but nothing compared to what the headfi sanctioned hate brigade throw out every day. I just think its a shame when new people in audio bring up these topics and everyone jumps to put them down...- Fidelity_Fiend

Ultimate Headphone Stand
Excellent, you must be thrilled. I love the tiny band of unstained wood (the bit for the cables) running through near the bottom - really great little detail. Normally you worry that a stand will treat your headphones right, you must be worried that your headphones will not damage your stand!- Fidelity_Fiend

Japan is the headphone paradise, and here's the proof
Amazing pictures, it is awesome that they give you the chance to not buy blind. I really cannot imagine how much money some of the members here would have saved if they were able to demo all headphones at whatever price range they are interested in. Having said that, demo canal phones, ewww...- Fidelity_Fiend

Monster Beats Pro is like a Sony XB
I love all the posters who come on and hate on the 'popular kids' for wearing beats while trying to be popular on headfi by hating on headphones half of them probably have not heard. Its all gone beyond the point of ridiculousness - 'beats sound worse than my 2.99 headphones that have been...- Fidelity_Fiend

Individual tracks that are an experience to listen to on headphones
Its not an individual song, but almost anything by Grandaddy. Besides being tragically underrated, the guy who makes it all is a massive headphone fan himself, so its all pretty headphone delicious. Jam the sophtware slump in and have a good time.- Fidelity_Fiend

One for the scientists

Yet the Clever Little Clock has a pronounced affect on the sound in the room. In addition, the picture quality any video...- Fidelity_Fiend

Box Envy
Cheers guys - Armaegis - The reason I chose box above stand are twofold. Firstly, I don't find the akg's particularly lend themselves to being hung. If done by the leather headband they tend to fall in on themselves and I do not particularly fancy hanging them by the biwire cables...- Fidelity_Fiend

A quote from a customer - "The Teleportation Tweak definitely made a difference. While my initial reaction was that the improvement was somewhat more than subtle, I now concur with another customer's observation that the tweak appears to have a 'burn-in' time...it is improving by the hour!!" -...- Fidelity_Fiend

Box Envy
So I just got a new pair of k702's (no debates about the sound please, I cannot be bothered) and I am very happy with them. The thing is, I have box envy. My tube amp is sat on solid granite and looks sexy, my cd player is a sleek brushed metal affair and my headphones are in cardboard :(. I...- Fidelity_Fiend

I lost my headphone virginity and boy am I happy
Im gonna suggest an expensive option. Given that you seem to be listening indoors and I am imagining sound leak to not be too much of a problem, if you can spring for an amp the sennheiser hd650 are a good choice. This is nowhere near all out high end but would still be an expensive option...- Fidelity_Fiend

I am simply interested to see what others think about this. When I read hifi mags I am often shocked by how much EVERYTHING they review is hyped. One example would be what hifi (uk) the pages of this mag are simply bursting with four and five star reviews. I have noticed plenty of other...- Fidelity_Fiend

A stimulating read about cables (at least I thought so)
Quote: Monster cables were used as the non-audiophile option, the competitor was pear cables with a $7200 cable. However, pear cables pulled out before the test could be performed. Lets not be so open minded that our brain falls out. The article I began this thread with describes...- Fidelity_Fiend

Not so - http://gizmodo.com/315250/pear-cable-chickens-out-of-1000000-challenge-we-search-for-answers Randi was unwilling to let Framer use his cables (as they could have been tampered with). But then pear audio pulled out of supplying their own $7000+ speaker cable. Both Randi and Framer...- Fidelity_Fiend

A stimulating read about cables (at least I thought so)
Well, I think his comments about the troubles of not being able to immediately A/B cables in most cases are quite accurate. Without an immediate method of switching it must be very hard to get an accurate impression of the difference. Perhaps more telling is that James Randi is offering...- Fidelity_Fiend
