Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice
As was recommended the brimar CV1863 is hands down the best rectifier tube for the money. out of all the tubes I have so far it might be the best period. Jonathan c posted a link where to buy them I believe from England directly. For drivers I can't help you there because I have a 2nd gen SE so...- b0lt 0ns

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice
if i buy a 596 i intend to buy it directly from woo with the adapter. $175 isnt bad at all considering the prices of many other tubes including the $400 596. looks like im gonna be browsing ebay for the next week lol.- b0lt 0ns

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice
what does one of those run? i took your advice a while ago and got the brimar 1863. shortly after got a sophia mesh plate thinking it would be better and the brimar is the winner there if we arent taking looks into account. i have been considering a 596 but possibly one of these instead?- b0lt 0ns

Massdrop x Focal Elex Review & Measurements
It's been a long time since I have used the stock pads but I remember the fenestrated sheepskin pads sounding better everywhere after putting them on I'll never go back to the stock pads again.- b0lt 0ns

Massdrop x Focal Elex Review & Measurements
I dont remember if there was a notable change to the mids or highs but definitely an increase in bass. For me the fenestrated sheepskin are perfect for the elex.- b0lt 0ns

Massdrop HD 6xx: Too much PUNCH and SLAM!
A non EQed hd6xx/650 is not a headphone I would call punchy myself. Sounds like the hd600 is really what you need if you think the bass is too much on those.- b0lt 0ns

VZR Model One
sounds like you hear exactly what i hear regarding the mids and bass. i havent heard the 7x but the VZR directionals are better than any other mainstream gaming set i have owned (astro a50, hyperx cloud, corsair void pro) granted they were wireless. to me the bass helps with explosion sounds on...- b0lt 0ns

SASH Deux & Tres; impressive planars from Ukraine
Yes because I mainly bought the 16s because I wanted a blue set lol. I didn't buy them because I didn't like the 45s and if I got the 16s first I still would have bought some 45s. I have no intention of getting rid of either set. The 16s work good for electronic and modern rock/metal where...- b0lt 0ns

most recently between the two the 16s because they are newer but i have a bunch of headphones that i cycle so both pairs havent been used much recently. detail mostly. if you listen to classical/orchestra/live type music you definitely want the 45s.- b0lt 0ns

45 is brighter than 16ohm but i wouldnt say they are offensively bright. If you're willing to use an EQ I would recommend the 45s just because they do a lot of stuff better than the 16 ohms. In a situation where you can't EQ the 16ohm are easier on the ears. I also hate bright sounding...- b0lt 0ns

I have the Monolith THX 887 and it's a great amp. Has more power than I could possibly need even for the tres 45 which are by far my hardest to drive headphone. For $299 I don't think you can get a better amp.- b0lt 0ns
