SASH Deux & Tres; impressive planars from Ukraine

45 is brighter than 16ohm but i wouldnt say they are offensively bright. If you're willing to use an EQ I would recommend the 45s just because they do a lot of stuff better than the 16 ohms. In a situation where you can't EQ the 16ohm are easier on the ears. I also hate bright sounding headphones which is why I don't own any hifiman lol.

Both my sets were almost exactly 8 weeks til they were ready to be shipped which is what I believe Sasha quotes when you order.
Which one do you use more often?

most recently between the two the 16s because they are newer but i have a bunch of headphones that i cycle so both pairs havent been used much recently.
In what aspect does the 45 ohm do better than the 16ohm? I have no issues using eq is. I often read the tres being compared to audeze being planars and all. But has anyone compared tres to say a fostex th909.
detail mostly. if you listen to classical/orchestra/live type music you definitely want the 45s.

Goibg back, would you still buy the 16s?

I ordered it in addition to my 45s with the idea to keep only one of them if I like one more than the other or keep both if I like them both and they are different enough. I am actually curious if it's justified to own both versions. I am more into rock, electronic, and old pop.

Yes because I mainly bought the 16s because I wanted a blue set lol. I didn't buy them because I didn't like the 45s and if I got the 16s first I still would have bought some 45s. I have no intention of getting rid of either set. The 16s work good for electronic and modern rock/metal where detail isn't as important but for example I compared the 2 on Metallica S&M album and the difference in detail was immediately apparent when it came to instruments.

I settled on LCD pads and removal of yellow dampening from wear. I'm planning for 45 ohm version.

Must admit i'm tempted to get the Tres again, the semi open cups were not available before from him. I'm guessing they give you some more bass and gives a little more isolation? The original closed design changed sound to much from the open design IMO.

I have two EQs if anyone is interested to try them out. The first one stays as close to stock tuning just with a few tweaks.

Second eq follows the harmen curve with a slightly warm tilt. I used the LCD-X 2021 as a guideline and did a few little tweaks myself. This eq to my ear is the better one. Theres a touch more oomph in the overall sound, better clarity, mids come out to play and detail is certainly improved
