Hi, first time posting on this thread. I owned a tres 45 a year or so ago, but let go of it to fund some ZMFs. I am looking to add some plants back into the collection and am interested in the SE. Has anyone ordered recently and able to comment on lead times? Also.. with the SE, how much difference Vs the OG 45? I loved the tuning of that one and wish I'd kept it tbh..

If you liked the OG, the SE will most likely suit your taste. SE is just better: faster and more details compared to the OG.Hi, first time posting on this thread. Been a while, but I am still a lover of the 45 ohm Tres. But after some testing, I have come to love the Tres with semi open cups. It needs some dampening but actually it's not that hard. I leave the black filters that Sasha uses in the cups. And also four white circle cotton filters in the cups aswell. But I also add a dense circular packaging foam that came with my Hifiman Ananda Nano. It's big. But it made a world of difference in the sound. Velour earpads make the sound more balanced overall but I do enjoy the leather for the added slam.
This has been my favourite combo. Extreme slam in the low end yet great mids and treble. I use other open backs now but the Tres 45 as semi open to me is one of the most musical and funnest headphones I have ever owned. Love them
I use Oratorys Eq for closed back with band 7 adjusted. The dampening is dense so it brings it closer to closed back but it still lets out and in some noise and air pressure which creates more impact in the low end. Overall, it sounds great . This is the eq

It's funny, but when I was ordering my Tres 45, Sasha basically talked me out of the semi-open cups, telling me it compromises the sound too much compared to open.
I tried both types of cups, fully closed and semi open. But the sound was noticeably better without the cups to my ears. When I ordered the SE, I didn't even consider the cups at all. But maybe it's not a bad idea to find the foam material @HardstyleLoco96 used in his experiments and play around with the dampening pads in search of greater impact in the low end. It's funny, but when I was ordering my Tres 45, Sasha basically talked me out of the semi-open cups, telling me it compromises the sound too much compared to open.
Hi, have someone ever tried both the SE and the Beyerdynamic T1 2nd gen?
I'm selling my Beyers and the SE could be my next move.
Thanks!!

In case anybody is interested, I put my Sash Tres 16 Ohm for sale, see https://www.head-fi.org/classifieds/sash-tres-16-ohm.64931/
I still like them quite much, but I don’t spend too much time with headphones lately.

My Sash Tres SE (exclusive palisander wood) is for sale too. The headphone is awesome. I'd like to see if it sells and order another SE in a lighter color. So if you want this model and don't want to wait, here is your chance to get one. https://www.head-fi.org/classifieds/sash-tres-se.65787/

Looks like you can order cables again: https://www.sash-audio.com/product-page/additional-cable (yes €35 for a 3 metre cable!) I'm not using mine but someone might be interessed!

How do you like the cable? Is it worth getting this one as opposed to something aftermarket? These cables seem super cheap for what they are but is it at a cost? I'm thinking of buying an additional XLR cable to go with the 6.35mm cable already in my order but maybe I should buy something else elsewhere.Looks like you can order cables again: https://www.sash-audio.com/product-page/additional-cable (yes €35 for a 3 metre cable!) i'd say a good 7/10 cable a teensy bit stiffer than i'd like but really not bad and it holds up well so pretty good for price honestlyHow do you like the cable? 7/10 is really solid for such a low price. If I don't end up liking it anyway much it's not a big loss. Thanks for the quick reply!i'd say a good 7/10 cable a teensy bit stiffer than i'd like but really not bad and it holds up well so pretty good for price honestly
