PW Audio Cables Discussion Thread
I tend to think that the 1950s is more versatile, given its more neutral presentation? Just my view.- Fr_eak

From what I know from Peter directly, different insulation and structure inside, hence the different tuning.- Fr_eak

The structure (and obviously the insulation) of the cables are different from what I understand, hence the difference in tuning.- Fr_eak

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
According to the source (which is the dealer in HK), it is the successor of the LX and will have 11 drivers (4 e-stats, 5BAs, and 2 DDs).- Fr_eak

The cables debate will never end. From my point of view, cables do make a difference. Scientific proof? To be defined (conductivity, noise, etc, I'm not a physician by training but I trust my ears) Is the price proportional to the difference they produce? Depending on how you value that final...- Fr_eak

Agreed that the 1950s is indeed rather versatile. It has equally well synergy with the Phantom and Noble's Katana (with rather different character on their own).- Fr_eak

Another cable that I think pair with Phantom very well is the PW Audio 1950s. I know it's ridiculously expensive and many will doubt/argue whether its worth its asking price. However setting this aside I truly think it's a good pairing. It retains the fundamental character of the Phantom but...- Fr_eak

PW Audio Cables Discussion Thread
Generally speaking the 1960s has more emphasis on the lower mids and bass, while 1950s is relatively colder and more airy. It depends on what you want to achieve.- Fr_eak

I have both the Phantom and Katana. They are indeed pretty different but both have emphasis in the mid range (broadly speaking), but in a very different way IMO. Phantom is famous for its lush thick warm mids, while Katana focuses on clarity and forwardness. At first I did find Phantom veiled...- Fr_eak

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!
It is a matter of perception and preference and there is no point in seeking a proof as such, as there is no right or wrong answer. How much money a person is willing to invest in cables is entirely a personal choice, and I don't see the point in challenging that.- Fr_eak

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!
Why do people need to prove to you that cables do provide changes to the sound? If you don't believe / can't hear the difference that's fine but there are so many other people, including myself, who use cables to tune the sound of their systems.- Fr_eak

I can notice hiss from my Katana connected to my 1Z too, either single ended or balanced, using a variety of cables. But the hiss is acceptable for me.- Fr_eak

Let me share a few photos and feedback on the Dignis Alcantara case for Sony WM1.I received mine a week ago. It fits very tightly and cut out is good. Protection wise it covers the player well and my only complaint is that protection for the upper corners (next to the headphone out) is not...- Fr_eak

I actually have the K10 too and have tried the SW22 on it but I use the Katana a lot more. Yes I also think the SW22 is indeed more bassy than other cables I have tried!- Fr_eak

I am very interested to hear your feedback on the sonic difference between the Linum and your SW22. I am using SW22 too and find it having great synergy with my Katana (which is a bit of surprise as I initially thought it would be too bright, but it's not!)- Fr_eak

No definitely not... I know MQA is a bit controversial in many discussion forums but from my own experience comparing the Buena Vista Social Club album between 24/96 flac and MQA the difference is apparent that the MQA is better. The soundstage, the precise positioning of equipment and timing is...- Fr_eak
