Sony MDR-MV1
The MV1 is portable, comfortable, easy to drive and sound great, it has the characteristics of many people's "only headphone" managing to be competent for both desktop use and on the go. It does imo light in packaging and accessories for the price, but the build itself is not something that's...- Sp12er3

Sony MDR-MV1
Actually you can find a lightly used 1AM2 for cheaper and got a whole other headphone as bonus. 😂 But hey some people want better quality ones, but for me, I'm doing fine with using all of my 1AM2's accessories with the MV1.- Sp12er3

Why doesn't anybody like the Denon AH-D600
Humidity, anything stored for a long time will be like that if you live in tropical country, my room stays around 60-70% and it breaks many stuff, leather, paint, planar drivers tracers etc. It's better to regularly use your cans if you have them, if not keep them in dry container like ones for...- Sp12er3

The Official Sony TA-ZH1ES Hi-Res Headphone Amplifier (Live From IFA 2016)
Personally it's the closest one to a Z1R without breaking the bank, it's a straight upgrade from 1AM2, and IMO way better than the original Z7. It's more comfortable, smaller and easier to find parts for than the Z1R/Z7 line too. The caveat is packaging and included accessory is minimalist, as...- Sp12er3

Sony MDR MA900 Impressions Thread
Understandable, the difference is the expectation of what you want out of it I guess, The MA900 have a realistic presentation but has a tuning that doesn't really fit my preference so I proposed a 2channel system where there's many different options for vastly different experience to headphones...- Sp12er3

The Official Sony TA-ZH1ES Hi-Res Headphone Amplifier (Live From IFA 2016)
I bought the Tazzy, and kept using the Tazzy, for one reason and one reason only, it's multitudes of port options make it easy for me to swap cans on the fly. Whenever I'm in the mood for one can is just pick it up where I put it last, Useful as I usually only turn it on when it became late...- Sp12er3

Sony MDR MA900 Impressions Thread
That veiled nature in the end is the one thing that made me sold mine, it was bought new when supply of it is dwindling everywhere, basically my first serious headphone purchase. I only had a SR60e and M40x before it, basically my first trifecta of cans. Kept it for 5 ish years, after years of...- Sp12er3

Sony MDR-MV1
The pads is new, and pretty unique in its shape, tho for size and fitting itself I think many standard replacement pads for studio style cans should fit. Tho have to admit, my Kef is occupying 90% of my home use these days. I'm finding it easier to have more eartime for portable full-size when...- Sp12er3

Save the date: a Sennheiser CES debut
it wasnt announced on CES, but one of HE-1 Orpheus' first demo was at CES, and it sure got lots of exposure there with all the mainstream media talking about it. same with HD820, Sennheiser has that unique spot as having their flagship product actually be in mainstream media people's view...- Sp12er3

T1 1st gen have attached cable and a metal case while Second gen have detachable cable and carry on hardcase, isn't this the difference? Does 2nd gen really continue the S/N numbering from 1st gen like that?- Sp12er3

Sony Z1R....listening impressions only
The only headphone I'm interested in is Empyrean 2, I'd keep the Z1R as long as I can, otherwise I'm settled. Im looking at Expanse and wondered whether that thing is just an audio compromised closed back just to make it look good & like a sibling of Stealth, and the E3 is the headphone that...- Sp12er3

Sony Z1R....listening impressions only
Z1R is on B tier, and unanimously so. at 1:30:07. Despite the controversial release it has 7 years ago it basically has settled to be one of the better closed back on the market with its own uniqueness to exist. There's barely any A tier closed back in all three's lists. Hard to make good closed...- Sp12er3

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
I've owned Ananda, they are, comparatively to ADX5000, unremarkable, they sound a tad too polite and got nothing much going for it that's especially outstanding. True that I didn't have the AT at the same time as the Ananda. But I do have my T1 at the same time and I prefer it over the Ananda...- Sp12er3

2017 Audio Technica new flagship ATH-ADX5000
Gear matching is always a thing in audio, it's the one thing that makes me consider a tube amp as the final thing I can add to my setup, but always deferred when time to buy comes, Lately I've been sidetracked with some distraction that 2 channel system provides, I now consider for people who...- Sp12er3

Sony Z1R....listening impressions only
Yeah did that on mine religiously after use, the pads still flaked. I think the environment the gear is used also affect it, I live in a pretty humid country and everything seem to deteriorate faster than places thats more dry. I do keep passive dehumidifier inside my headphone boxes now.- Sp12er3

Sony Z1R....listening impressions only
I've learn to appreciate the Z1R tuning after I daily a 2 channel system with a subwoofer hooked to it. I used to baby it a lot, leaving it inside its box whenever i could, but I just leave it perched on the headphone hook I put under the Tazzy 24/7 now.- Sp12er3

The Official Sony TA-ZH1ES Hi-Res Headphone Amplifier (Live From IFA 2016)
I've posted this on MV1 thread but I did give subscribing to Tidal Max for a month a try as I happen to have Sony MV1 and NS7, both their product that advertises compatibility with 360RA music in 2 completely different way, come at the same time. It's an interesting experience for sure. Not...- Sp12er3

The Official Sony TA-ZH1ES Hi-Res Headphone Amplifier (Live From IFA 2016)
It's actually tuned quite similarly to Z1R, it actually beats my Z7 quite handily in being a small, portable Z1R I can bring around.- Sp12er3
