Sony WF-1000X discussion thread: Truly wireless IEM with Active Noise Cancelling!
My experience after listening to these daily for about three weeks with a iPhone X/MacBook Pro: Pros Good sound quality - wireless or not. To me, they're an upgrade over my wired RHA MA750s and aren't disproportionately more expensive than those were at the time I bought them. Similarly...- dehory

Sony WF-1000X discussion thread: Truly wireless IEM with Active Noise Cancelling!
For the first couple of days of heavy use with my iPhone X, both indoor and outdoor (e.g. gardening) were rock solid, but I have indeed started experiencing intermittent right ear drop outs. There’s no discernible pattern to them so far. They are a bit concerning, but so far rare (a couple of...- dehory

Sony WF-1000X discussion thread: Truly wireless IEM with Active Noise Cancelling!
Given the AAC implementation and lack of AptX support in these earphones, my (totally speculative) hunch is that they were more thoroughly tested with iOS devices than Android. Very early impressions with my iPhone X is positive in the connection stability department.- dehory

In Search of Non-Hissing IEMs: Replacing the Super.Fi 5 Pro
Just as a quick follow up, I switched to Atrio M5s and the hiss from my iPhones was indeed much decreased. The sound, too, was actually preferable to the SF5Ps. It seems to me like there are improvements year-to-year with IEMs.- dehory

Hiss on IEM's
A similar thread is going on in the Headphones forum, but basically, I don't think an attenuator is an ideal solution - especially for portable use. If I have my DAP in my pocket with the attenuator sticking out, it's just a matter of time before the headphone/lineout socket is going to get...- dehory

In Search of Non-Hissing IEMs: Replacing the Super.Fi 5 Pro
The best choices, it seems, for non-hissing IEMs are: q-JAYS - low sensitivity Atrio M5/8 - dynamic drivers Sleek SA6 - high impedance Which of these factors will make the most difference in terms of hiss?- dehory

In Search of Non-Hissing IEMs: Replacing the Super.Fi 5 Pro
It's bizarre to me that this problem seems so widespread with DAPs. You'd think that with more and more consumer IEMs being introduced, they would have found a solution that was more elegant than adding an attenuator...- dehory

In Search of Non-Hissing IEMs: Replacing the Super.Fi 5 Pro
A few weeks ago, the bass driver in one of my Super.Fi 5 Pros died. My 2-year warranty has expired, so I'm looking for a replacement set of IEMs rather than taking advantage of the 25% discount which UE offered me. The biggest complaint I had with my SF5Ps was the amount of hiss coming from...- dehory

You know, after several dozen listens on repeat, I'm convinced Neon Bible is a better album than Funeral. I think they've really expanded their sound without sacrificing that tense, apocalyptic undertow. Funeral is definitely more immediately accessible, but Neon Bible shows a more diverse and... -
