Non-IEM portable headphones equivalent to ER-4P
Yeah, the Etymotic ER-4P are pretty hard to top and portable headphones are unlikely to match the isolation that they provide. I know this, and that's okay. But I'd love to get some portable headphones that somewhat match the signature sound of the ER-4P. They have that magical quality of being...- LDM

Really portable amp?
The iBasso T3 is the successor to the T4. Don't ask me why they numbered it the way they did. The T4 is generally considered one of the best truly portable amps. The RSA Shadow will probably replace that now, but it's also much pricier. Thus, the new iBasso T3 is probably your best bet...- LDM

Interesting. What is the advantage of two Gain switches? And do you have any news on the iBasso T3D? The only mention I've seen is here.- LDM

ER-4P replacements
All right, so, last week, my Etymotic ER-4Ps got sucked up while my dad was vacuuming. They're ruined. These were recommended to me some time ago on Head-Fi and I couldn't have been more pleased. I'm a mid-range fan, though in general, I like that overall flat response. The ER-4Ps, IMO, excelled...- LDM

ZY Zn7 iPod Dock - Mini Cable - Head-Direct
For the record, I got this a few days ago, and it is just about perfect for the price. The length is just right, and the Pailiccs plug is really nice. Highly recommended; you're not gonna get much better than this (or you can pay $100+ for something that sounds the same).- LDM

ZY Zn7 iPod Dock - Mini Cable - Head-Direct
How is this? I don't want to fret too much about interconnects, but I plan on using this with the most recent generation of iPod Nano and an iBasso T4. Thanks.- LDM

Smallest Amps using the LOD from iPod
Looks like the T4 and Minibox-D are both highly recommended. Hate to do the simplistic "which is better" question, but I'll go for it. Sort of: am I right to assume that the T4 is smaller? And then of course in sound.- LDM

Smallest Amps using the LOD from iPod
This should be fairly self-explanatory-- no FiiO amps or whatnot. I am looking for practicality over absolute sound quality here, so the amp needs to be ACTUALLY SMALL AND PORTABLE, but uses the LOD, unlike the E3. "Small as possible" might be a safe term to use… not "this amp sounds really...- LDM

FiiO E5 amp (E3 upgraded)
So, then, if I hooked the E5 (or the E3 for all that matters) up to my Cowon i7 (which does not have a line out) with my Etymotic ER-4P earphones, would I hear a negative or positive difference? The chief reason for amping would be for bass, though improved SQ would be icing on the cake. I am...- LDM

Best Custom IEM That Replicates Etymotic Er-4p/s
I have heard good things about the triple.fi 10 Pro. And you can always try amping, even with something cheap like the FiiO E3. Dunno if you wanna go for that though.- LDM

Etymotic ER-4P + Cowon players
What are your opinions on such a combination? After much reading around here, I have read conflicting opinions. I'm looking around for the 16 GB+ area, and Cowon players are very esteemed. Obviously players like the iAudio 7 and the D2 have very analytical sounds. Some have loved the pairing...- LDM
