HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone
Anyone have these issue? It's not a big deal, but the left side keeps falling off no matter how many times I glue it. Alcohol, then reglue? I haven't addressed it yet because it isn't sound-related.- Moostrkraaft

HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone
It's hard to find a way or reason to upgrade, and that's a good thing. Maybe I'll look for a new source, but listening life is good.- Moostrkraaft

HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone
Thanks. I really appreciate that it does have good bass, but it doesn't sound muffled. It's perfectly controlled/tight to my ears. When I want real beefiness, I switch to the LCD-3s.- Moostrkraaft

HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone
They are the non-fazor version. The amp works well with them, but the LAu was designed for the HE-6. It's not even clear whether to use the LCD-3s in low or high gain. It seems to depend somewhat. Probably low gain for most music.- Moostrkraaft

HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone
Anyone have a pair of early 4-screw HE-6s properly amped and tried the Susvaras through the same setup? I am not that interested in upgrading but curious hearing from anyone who has experience with both. To this day, the HE-6s, paired with the discontinued Liquid Gold, remain my favorite...- Moostrkraaft

HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone
Anyone think there is anything as punchy, yet tight, and better with dynamics than a properly-driven (4-screw for me) HE-6? It is so hard for me to imagine it. I am stuck thinking low sensitivity is best at the moment. The Cavalli Liquid Gold was designed with the HE-6 in mind, so it doesn't...- Moostrkraaft

Toxic Cables - Impressions and Discussion Thread
Toxic Cables did just reach out to me with a photo of a shipping receipt that identifies the first line of my address. I do not have what I have purchased, and that is why I am upset. I have no interest in harming any manufacturer. My Toxic Sennheiser HD800 cable still remains the best cable I...- Moostrkraaft

Toxic Cables - Impressions and Discussion Thread
I placed an order for a Black Widow for my HE-6s in January of this year. After a few emails asking for an update I finally received a "Your order is complete" email a couple months ago. Since then, I have received nothing. This used to be a great company. R.I.P. I will need the community's...- Moostrkraaft

Now that Focal introduced beryllium into the headphone market, will diamond be next?
Well we saw our first $55,000 headphone system with the successor to the Sennheiser Orpheus. I think you mean we will see the first standalone retail-priced $6,000 headphone. I don't doubt it.- Moostrkraaft

Liquid Gold - 2014
Who here has regularly listened to the LAu + HE-6 combination and made a confident conclusion that another headphone performs better with the LAu? If so, then on which metrics did these special cans surpass and/or underperform? I have not listened to the latest flagships, but have hesitantly...- Moostrkraaft

HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone
I just wanted to restate my love for these cans. I know many HE-6 owners continue to revel at the sound quality they hear out of their system. I still regard my pair powered by Cavalli's Liquid Gold Amp as my favorite audio reproducing system. With proper amplification, these cans produce the...- Moostrkraaft

Audeze LCD-4
I love Audeze. Audeze is the first audio company I truly loved. They are responsible for most of my best listening experiences, and I take that seriously. I cherish those listening sessions. Their decision to charge $4K for their new flagship did surprise me at first glance. But market dynamics...- Moostrkraaft

HIFIMAN HE6 Amp Ranking Database
The Cavalli LAu is the only amp that ever made the HE6 worth keeping and revering (over my other headphones, as well). The Lyr was decent but never made me love the headphones.- Moostrkraaft

Did Sennheiser just reveal the Orpheus successor?
I've heard his system. It's an emotional experience. The speed exceeds a person's ability to detect error in realism. It's not one that anyone could possibly impart onto another faithfully through words. Those headphones express human emotions from music extraordinarily well. All technical talk...- Moostrkraaft

Audeze Robbed of LCD Series Headphones
For the amount of joy their products have brought us, Audeze deserves our full support. I will keep my eyes open to online sales of their products. I hope the Head-Fi community can unite and help this great company redress the wrongs committed against them.- Moostrkraaft

Liquid Gold - 2014
Grace M903 is my main DAC. That's very drool-worthy. Coincidently, I was going to buy the Vega until I heard of the LAu's discount. Part of me is obviously wondering what that combo sounds like. I just couldn't resist the LAu considering my planar collection and desire to hear a different...- Moostrkraaft

Liquid Gold - 2014
I didn’t anticipate how difficult it would be to compare the two beasts. For the first month or so with the LAu, I barely spent any time with the BA. With the BA, I would listen to the LCD-3 about 75% of the time, and the HD800 about 25% of the time. With the LAu, I spent around 90% with the...- Moostrkraaft

Mass Ko Bo 394 New high end Amp for power hungry headphone like Abyss 1266
OK, I can't believe I'm compelled to say this...but for the record, the LAu drives every headphone I have, including the HE-6, without breaking a sweat. If I were to max out the volume, it might kill me.- Moostrkraaft

Liquid Gold - 2014
The LAu is now officially in my ears. Although I will refrain from any detailed impressions at least until the recommended burn-in is complete, I will say that I am already in love with this gorgeous amp. It really is FAR more beautiful in person. Sonic improvements at this point seem like icing...- Moostrkraaft

Liquid Gold - 2014
I pulled the trigger on this amp a couple weeks ago. I drooled over it long before the deal was announced, trying to figure out how to justify the purchase. Since I was teetering over the edge of pulling the trigger, it was too much for me to learn about the recent discount. And while I do...- Moostrkraaft

Eddie Current Balancing Act
The LCDs are a lot more closed-in, which can sound either natural and intimate (good) or congested (bad) depending on the recording. The LCDs can't handle complex passages the way the HD800s do. The tonality on the LCDs is more natural, but the BA narrows the gap in tonality. The LCDs are also...- Moostrkraaft

Eddie Current Balancing Act
The bigger the soundstage of the track, the less fatiguing I've found them to be. It's as though the stridency is at a comfortable distance from my ears and diluted to natural levels.- Moostrkraaft
