SONY IER-Z1R
Just wanted to record an update, after about 100 hrs of burn in. I can feel more bass presence, its not as tight as Atlas or boomy like Z5, its somewhere in between. 1Z owners, what are the best audio settings that you prescribe? Also I heard Sony launched a custom IEM along side with...- harishmirror

Official Sony DMP-Z1 Thread
Folks, apologize me for a TOTL noob question, is there any opportunity for someone to try the DMP-Z1 in the US or Canada? Or is there any Sony rep available on headfi?- harishmirror

SONY IER-Z1R
1st get them IEMs on your ears and then write or keep littering this space with your ignorant comments. I was once told never to argue with idiots as they will drag me down to their level and beat me with their experience. Thats why I keep away from conversations in headfi, where a few keyboard...- harishmirror

SONY IER-Z1R
Actually its the opposite. Like I stated before Z1R is like red wine, while Solaris is like red bull. Z1R is darker and warmer than Solaris, while the latter is brighter and more forward. In fact Solaris can make your heart explode with the enormous detailed presentation, while Z1R should make...- harishmirror

SONY IER-Z1R
Speaking of Bass alone, The Z1R offers way better Sub bass rumble compared to Solaris. Mid bass is the biggest strength of the Solaris, feels a little forward and better textured. But both are totally different sound signature, cannot be compared. I apologize to differ in thoughts. With my...- harishmirror

With my experience the Solaris was more satisfying overall to the W80. But they both are totally different, I remember that the W80 didn't pair well with my dap/amp inventory. Never heard the second one.- harishmirror

SONY IER-Z1R
Only reason to bring the Z5 into this topic is, When I 1st tried the Z1R, I had only two immediate impressions, one - unmistakably Sony, two - very familiar sound signature to Z5. This warm signature is so very unique to Sony, so far I could call it 'ears on red wine'. While the TOTL Campfire...- harishmirror

SONY IER-Z1R
Source was my WM1Z, no mods - 4.4 - high gain. I just felt the Z5 to be sonically superior to Z1R. Alright time to settle this.. like men.. I can get access to the Z1R and Z5 tomorrow once again. If you like I can share the same reference dsd/dxd music files that I am very familiar with...- harishmirror

SONY IER-Z1R
No surprise, Sony engineers went high on *%÷×+ celebrating the SQ of the EX1000/Z5 before finalizing the fit. I myself push them back into position quite often. The Z1R fit is perfect, just like Solaris, they are heavy and weirdly shaped but you forget them after you get the right fit.- harishmirror

SONY IER-Z1R
My advice dont even try the pure BA versions of Sony XBA series like the XBA4. Thats where all my internship $$$ went, heck they even stopped working after a period of time. But ofcourse the EX1000 is best analytical IEM I ever heard along with Solaris. EX1000 honestly deserve a place in...- harishmirror

SONY IER-Z1R
Source = WM1Z on the same dsd and dxd files. No offense to any iem, but this is what I felt, may be I am wrong or the Z1Rs need more burn-in or a different source? If you personally ask me, I am sort of against this Cirnacle rating thingy that rates IEMs based on $$$. The A12T are rated S+ but...- harishmirror

SONY IER-Z1R
Yeah, put everything for sale due to an upcoming mortgage down payment :( . A12T is the only thing left so its the go-to iem for now. A12T is very strict, purely analytical and not remotely close to like the fun Sony's can offer Was trying the IER -Z1R its pretty much sounding like my doomed...- harishmirror

I just happened to try the IER-Z1R for a few hours tonight, seems that the Z5 is more detail revealing with fuller sub bass. How long does the Z1R be burned in?- harishmirror

No I mean the next Stainless Steel or Snow white version of Solaris. To be even precise the version that can bring out the real sub bass potential of that adlc driver.. Ps: Honestly in need of a Solaris V2 soon.- harishmirror

...arguing as neither one could be superior, I consider the difference to be a personal preference. No hard feelings.. Note: Personally I support CA for serving the community with TOTL imaging at bargain prices, but their dealership network su*ks big time, CA must learn 'customer service'...- harishmirror
