Plug headphones into iFi audio GO link for supercharged sound!

I guess you're right, I didn't notice that the 3.5mm has 3 connections. It must be 4 segments for trrs balanced. Not 100% sure why the description states "balanced" which is confusing.

Plug headphones into iFi audio GO link for supercharged sound!

It should work alright. I got a 3.5mm to 2.5mm one by the same brand and it works great. I would suggest that one instead: FSIjiangyi 3.5mm Male Stereo to 4.4mm Female Balanced Adapter OFC Silver 8-Strand 19-Core Adapter Cable Suitable for Connecting 3.5mm Jack Audio Player, MP3 Player...

Plug headphones into iFi audio GO link for supercharged sound!

I tried all the options and nothing works. My iDSD Micro doesn't have that issue and properly releases the control of the USB when exiting the UAPP. No need to unplug. But Link Go does retain control over USB with my either S23 ultra or S8+ once UAPP is launched and allowed to use DAC. Could be...

Plug headphones into iFi audio GO link for supercharged sound!

Also using a balanced 2.5mm cable with the 3.5mm TRRS adapter really works well with iFi Link Go and makes the sound a bit more refined and organic. More space added and instrument separation increases too.

Plug headphones into iFi audio GO link for supercharged sound!

I use USB Audio Player Pro for several years with Android and it is a great app that supports many DACs natively. It plays DSD 512 just fine and turns the light to magenta. One annoying issue is that it takes the full control over the iFi Link Go and when switching to a different player I need...

Plug headphones into iFi audio GO link for supercharged sound!

Another possibility would be getting the 3.5mm 4-contact male to 2.5mm female adapter and the 2.5mm balanced cable. But I would prefer a single cable solution to eliminate the extra pieces.

Plug headphones into iFi audio GO link for supercharged sound!

I rolled my new iFi Go Link back from the stock 1.80 to 1.66 and also noticed slight improvements in sound. It sounds a tad cleaner and more resolving, like a slight veil was removed. It is not psychological, I listened to a few familiar tracks right before the rollback and then the same tracks...

iFi iDSD Micro DSD512 / PCM768 DAC and Headphone Amp. Impressions, Reviews and Comments.

I had the same issue with the first version of iDSD Micro (silver one). Both the Black and "Silver" ones use the same low-quality switch for IEMatch. I am pretty sure iFi was made aware of that issue and resolved it with a different switch in their Signature version later on. Ah, well..... $$$$...

Not sure about the latest Signature battery but the original Micro iDSD and the later Black edition use the same PL-M10 battery and can be upgraded to an external larger one as long as it's 3.7V type. I would still suggest that no more than 8000mAh battery is used as any larger capacity battery...

iFi iDSD Micro DSD512 / PCM768 DAC and Headphone Amp. Impressions, Reviews and Comments.

Yes. It is a simple DIY project. Just upgraded mine today to a larger external battery. Post in thread 'iDSD micro Black Label. Tour details (page 147). Thanks! I actually reused the Molex 3-pin connector which is connected inside the unit to the power board. The wiring from it was not too long so I just soldered extra wires and put them into the shrink tube for better insulation. Then I soldered them to the charging board removed from the...

My 6-year-old iDSD Micro battery started to give up eventually. So I just decided to upgrade it to a larger external one. This is a 10000 mAh Lipo battery from Amazon for less than 20 bucks which should give around 24hrs of non-stop playtime. I have not yet had time to test it after the full...

    Topping D50

I still prefer my D50 over any other DAC for its tone, details and overall balanced sound. I am on my second D50 and usually I do not buy 'burn-in' theory except for tube gear but after a while D50 seems to mellow down a bit and start sounding more pleasant. Initially it seems to be a little...

    Topping D50

Based on specs D50 is definitely better but not everyone may be able to tell the difference. A decent set of amp and headphones may be needed for A/B tests I think. D50 model is newer, has a volume control from 99 to 0db (can be used as pre-amp) which is great. I preferred it over D30 mostly...

I found a similar post on another forum describing two rows of dead pixels caused by poor packaging/shipping: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/review-and-measurements-of-topping-d50-dac.2403/post-80898

    Topping D50

I just got D50 from Amazon to use with my portable Diamondboxx setup and really like the sound improvement over the blutooth. But after a couple of days the OLED display developed a thin vertical line of dead pixels in the middle of the display. There is no degradation of sound quality as I can...

Elekit TU-8200 DX Headphone/Speaker Amp Review

NOS Dutch E80CC tubes can still be grabbed from eBay under $100 for a pair if one is patient. I ordered mine from Germany last time in September and it took a couple of weeks to arrive - Valvo-labeled Heerlen E80CC ones. There are also some Amperex E80CC which could be made in the US (silver...

Elekit TU-8200 DX Headphone/Speaker Amp Review

Thanks Effusion, great points! I will probably keep the RCAs to myself, both GE and RCA tubes are superior and possess that nice tubey tone that makes everyone want to listen to the music for hours, it is both transparent and warm without being dark or too bright and fatiguing. The tendency is...

Elekit TU-8200 DX Headphone/Speaker Amp Review

I just got a pair of identical NOS RCA 6L6GC blackplates w/bottom getters that I recently won on eBay. They cost pretty high but still lower than what the dealers would charge for those tubes these days. They appear to be in great shape and only lightly used based on the overall condition...

Elekit TU-8200 DX Headphone/Speaker Amp Review

I got the Mundorf caps from Victor today that I ordered last week and just installed them into my Elekit replacing the C3, C4, C9 and C10 while changing DB107 to DB207. Honestly I was initially skeptical about the coupling capacitor upgrade but after the swap there is a definite improvement in...
